Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

• Overview
• We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing processes and coding systems to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for medical services.

• Responsibilities
• - Review and verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
• - Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
• - Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
• - Utilize medical billing software to process claims
• - Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim denials or appeals
• - Maintain patient billing records and update as necessary
• - Stay current on insurance guidelines, regulations, and industry changes

• Qualifications
• - Proficiency in ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG coding systems
• - Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• - Experience in medical billing and collections
• - Familiarity with electronic medical records system ATHENA
• - Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• - Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• - Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred

Job Types: Full-time Employee or Contract

Pay: $40,000 to $55,000 Salary

Schedule:

8 hour shift (9:00AM - 5:00PM)
