As a Medical Director at ICON, you will drive medical initiatives within project teams, guiding strategic direction and decision-making processes, and offer expert medical and scientific guidance, leveraging therapeutic expertise to inform project development.

What You Will Do:

You will lead medical affairs delivery across your portfolio, setting standards and developing your team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic medical leadership and guidance on project teams.
  • Offering expert medical and scientific consultation throughout project lifecycles.
  • Ensuring compliance with ethical, legal, and regulatory standards in medical and safety monitoring activities.
  • Representing the Medical Affairs Department in business development initiatives.
  • Providing operational oversight within the Medical Affairs Department as needed.

Your Profile:

You will bring significant medical affairs experience, with a track record of building high-performing teams and delivering results.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with specialization in Oncology or Hematology .
  • At least 7 years of clinical practice in Oncology or Hematology (Board Certified Oncologist or Hematologist) OR extensive experience in Oncology/Hematology clinical research (as Investigator, Sub-investigator, Medical Monitor, Safety Physician, etc).
  • Proven track record of medical leadership and consultation within pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and ethical standards in clinical research.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the department effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide operational management in the absence of senior management.
  • Willingness to work on occasional on-call shifts
