Mental Health Worker – In-Patient Units - Float Pool - Nights

As a Mental Health Worker, you will serve on the front lines of patient care, helping ensure a safe, therapeutic environment for individuals receiving treatment. You will observe, assess, and document patients' physical, emotional, and social well-being, communicating important changes to the nursing and clinical teams to support timely interventions and quality care.

In this role, you will:

• •Promote patient safety through vigilant observation, monitoring, and reporting.
• •Build therapeutic relationships that support recovery and reinforce patient-centered care.
• •Assist patients with daily activities while encouraging independence, dignity, and engagement in their treatment plans.
• •Recognize and respond appropriately to signs of distress, anxiety, or behavioral changes.
• •Record vital signs and other key clinical information that informs multidisciplinary treatment decisions.
• •Contribute to a culture of compassion, collaboration, and continuous improvement in patient outcomes.

This is an exceptional opportunity to gain valuable frontline experience in behavioral health while making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families.

This is a full-time 8 hours, night shift position (11:00 pm - 7:30 am), includes working rotating weekends (Saturday/Sunday) for the NYP/Westchester Behavioral Health.

Preferred Criteria

• •Ideal candidates aspire to careers or degrees in social work or psychiatry.
• •A college degree and at least one year of psychiatry-related experience

Required Criteria

• •High School Diploma or GED
• •Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association - AHA)
• •Maintenance of Basic Life Support certification
• •Demonstrate commitment to continued learning & orientation completion
