Description:

Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Mental Health worker to join our team of mission-driven healthcare professionals located on our Behavioral Health Unit located at Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, CT .

The Mental Health Worker / Behavioral Health Tech is key role to keep patients engaged in recovery-oriented activities, help to communicate patient’s needs to the clinical team, to monitor patient safety and to work with the nursing professionals to create a healing environment for patients.

You Will Be Responsible For:

• •Performs patient observations and other patient care activities.
• •Observes patient behavior.
• •Performs, reports, and documents vital signs, ADLs.
• •Responds rapidly to emergency call lights and performs safety checks.
• •Provides group and individual interventions to assist the psychiatric patient towards recovery and rehabilitation.

Requirements:

• •Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent with related experience required. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred
• •Certification: AHA CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers
• •Experience: Possesses a broad practical understanding of life experiences and the ability to relate to emotionally ill individuals.
• •Prior experience in psychiatric/behavioral Health setting a plus.
• •Ability to prioritize tasks. Maintain confidentiality. Good problem-solving skills.
