Merchandising Specialist

Summary

This position is located at US Mint,Office of the Director - Sales Operations Branch. As a Merchandising Specialist, you will be responsible for the entire item master and all merchandising, warehousing, inventory, and shipping functions in the Order Management System. This position essentially serves as Senior Inventory Management Specialist.

Duties

As a Merchandising Specialist, you will: Serve as Senior Inventory Management Specialist responsible for reviewing the system content to evaluate the quality and accuracy of data concerning advertising, direct mail marketing, broadcast ads, customer internet purchasing, product maintenance, and product discontinuance information and for preparing reports related to Sales and Marketing. Participate in the development of priorities and develops strategies to analyze, forecast, and actual sales and inventory requirements. Monitor inventory availability of numismatic products across all logical warehouse locations; identify re-order points along with entering, monitoring, and changing purchase orders to accurately communicate inventory availability to call center and website; process purchase orders requests for United States Mint sales locations; identify and correct all system transaction errors, which include, invoice errors, pick ticket voids, and inventory transaction errors; direct the fulfillment center to perform all inventory moves; review and approve all inventory adjustment requests; support audits. Manage inventory physicals, de-trashing projects, and `end of year' efforts, and other projects. Create and analyze a variety of reports in The Order Management System, these include, advertising, purchasing, in transit, backorder, sales, low inventory, UPC codes, set up, and physical inventory reports. Establish merchandise inventory project requirements and priorities and develop strategies, including coordinating work requirements and project resources, to achieve short or long-term goals.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Managing or coordinating inventory, order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, warehousing, or related merchandise operations; AND Analyzing sales, inventory, purchasing, shipping, or fulfillment information and preparing reports to identify inventory needs, resolve discrepancies, or support operational decisions; AND Coordinating inventory or fulfillment activities with customers, vendors, contractors, or other organizational groups and recommending improvements to inventory, shipping, or fulfillment processes. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
