This position is full time during first shift.

In this role, you will:

• •Lead the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of microbiology training programs
• •Create, maintain, and update training materials, competency resources, and job aids for microbiology benches and specialized work areas
• •Establish consistent training expectations, progression criteria, and competency standards across the department
• •Coordinate training assignments and partner with qualified staff to support employee development
• •Monitor trainee progress, assess competency, and identify opportunities for additional instruction or remediation
• •Serve as a subject matter expert and training resource for microbiology team members and leadership
• •Support onboarding, cross-training, and ongoing professional development initiatives
• •Perform high complexity testing and contribute to laboratory operations as needed
• •Champion safety, compliance, quality control, and regulatory requirements

All you need is:

• •Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology; or Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science with 1 year of Medical Technology training
• •Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent
• •3+ years of laboratory experience performing high complexity testing in a microbiology laboratory
• •Demonstrated expertise in microbiology workflows, procedures, and quality standards
• •Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• •Ability to effectively train, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to others
• •Strong reading, writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• •Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms

Bonus points if you’ve got:

• •Previous experience training, mentoring, onboarding, or leading laboratory staff
• •Experience developing training materials, competency assessments, or standard operating procedures
• •Advanced microbiology bench competency across multiple specialty areas
