As a Mission Support Specialist, you will implement, coordinate, evaluate, and provide guidance to management and employees on a variety of administrative and operational programs.
Duties
- The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
- Maintain data integrity in asset tracking systems by entering, updating, and reconciling property records, serial numbers, asset management numbers, hand receipts, and inventory documentation for government-owned property.
- Manage and support administrative specialty areas related to government furnished equipment, supplies, procurement support, facilities coordination, space planning, and asset management.
- Provide guidance and assistance to managers, supervisors, and employees regarding facilities operations, equipment issuance and returns, property accountability, procurement support, and applicable administrative policies and procedures.
- Support facilities planning and space management activities by coordinating workspace assignments, office moves, space utilization needs, and space confirmations with the Office of Administration and building management.
- Oversee asset management activities by conducting periodic physical inventories, identifying discrepancies, coordinating corrective actions, and ensuring effective acquisition, utilization, accountability of government furnished equipment.
- Coordinate on-boarding and exit clearance support by arranging workspace assignments, facility access, equipment issuance, asset returns, and updates to inventory and property accountability records.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 10/02/2026. Time in Grade does not apply to Delegated Examining Announcements, any reference to Time in Grade in the questionnaire will not apply to the rating and ranking of applicants. GS-12: You qualify at the GS-12 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the majority of the following duties: Utilizing systems to initiate, update, and monitor property records, equipment assignments, workspace requests, inventory changes, or asset disposition actions. Facilitating facilities and asset management programs by tracking inventory, workspace assignments, and property accountability records. Analyzing facilities, inventory, or asset management data to assist with building reporting tools, preparing briefing materials, or creating presentations that inform leadership on operational status, space utilization, equipment needs, or property accountability. Identifying facilities, procurement support, or asset management process risks and providing optimization recommendations to management staff to improve accountability, efficiency, and compliance with applicable policies and procedures. GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the majority of the following duties: Analyzing facilities, procurement, and asset management data to develop recommendations. Providing guidance to managers on strategies, methods, or procedures to resolve facilities and asset management needs. Implementing technology-based solutions to streamline facilities and asset management operations and strengthen staff capacity in support of organizational priorities. Overseeing the full life cycle of facilities and asset management initiatives to ensure efficient administrative operations. Education
EDUCATIONAL SUBSTITUTION: There is no educational substitution at these grade levels. The Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate (FDNS) was established within USCIS to strengthen national security and the integrity of the country's legal immigration system by closely aligning the adjudication of immigration benefits and services with the identification of potential threats to national security and/or public safety, the detection and deterrence of fraud, and the use of law enforcement and intelligence information to ensure optimal security for U.S. communities. FDNS systematically identifies updates, and records indicators of fraudulent activities; manages fraud cases; identifies vulnerabilities and other weaknesses that compromise the integrity of the legal immigration system; and coordinates and provides logistical support in law enforcement and national security matters.
