Position Summary
The Die Setter / Mold Setter is responsible for performing mold and die changeovers, equipment setup, and process preparation for injection molding operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform mold and die changes according to production schedules.
Install, remove, and secure molds in injection molding machines
Verify proper machine settings and startup conditions before releasing equipment to production.
Troubleshoot mold setup, startup, and processing issues to minimize downtime.
Perform first-piece inspections and support quality verification during startup.
Complete mold cleaning and preventive maintenance activities as required.
Safely operate overhead cranes, hoists, and mold handling equipment.
Maintain accurate setup, changeover, and maintenance records.
Assist Process Technicians and Maintenance personnel with equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
Support continuous improvement activities to reduce setup times and improve productivity.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Ability to safely use overhead cranes and mold handling equipment.
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read setup sheets, process documentation, and work instructions.
Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders and work around manufacturing equipment.
