The Mortgage Loan Assistant serves as the primary customer contact throughout the mortgage process, from application through closing. This role coordinates all aspects of the loan file, ensures compliance with lending requirements, and acts as the central point of communication between borrowers, Mortgage Loan Officers (MLOs), real estate professionals, attorneys, appraisers, and underwriting teams.

What You'll Do

• •Complete and review loan applications with borrowers and MLOs.
• •Explain mortgage process, timelines, and milestones to customers.
• •Order and track appraisals, title work, flood determinations, and credit reports.
• •Prepare and deliver required disclosures and documentation.
• •Collect and review documents needed for underwriting.
• •Coordinate commitment letters and satisfy loan conditions.
• •Ensure appraisal and Closing Disclosure delivery within required timelines.
• •Schedule closings and coordinate with all parties involved.
• •Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the mortgage process.
• •Support a smooth customer experience from application to closing.

What You Bring

• •Mortgage loan processing experience.
• •Mortgage loan assistant, underwriting, or closing experience.
• •Working knowledge of the full mortgage lifecycle, including:
• •Origination
• •Processing
• •Underwriting
• •Pricing
• •Loan servicing

Experience with Mortgage Loan Origination Systems (LOS).

Preferred Knowledge

• •Freddie Mac guidelines
• •FHA programs
• •VA programs
• •Rural Development loans
• •NHHFA/VHFA programs
• •Mortgage compliance and disclosure requirements
