MRO Incoming Materials Inspector

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an MRO Incoming Materials Inspector to join our Aerospace Defence MRO team in Bristol, Filton.

In this role, you will perform incoming inspection of materials and parts into the Aerospace Defence MRO, ensuring components, standard parts and materials meet the required condition, documentation, traceability, packaging and company requirements.

You will be responsible for completing physical inspections, reviewing accompanying documentation and data, confirming compliance with orders and required conditions, and ensuring appropriate identification and traceability of parts and materials following receipt.

What you will be doing:

• •Perform physical inspection of incoming components, standard parts and materials.
• •Verify the general condition of components and their packaging, identifying any damage that could affect the integrity of the components.
• •Verify that component shelf-life requirements have not expired.
• •Ensure items are received in the appropriate packaging for the type of component, including correct ATA 300 or Electrostatic Sensitive Device (ESD) packaging where required.
• •Verify that components have all required plugs and caps appropriately installed to prevent damage or internal contamination.
• •Inspect materials and standard parts received in batches and verify the associated traceability.
• •Review accompanying documentation and data.
• •Verify compliance with the order and required condition.
• •Confirm conformity with company requirements, including the type of release requested and approved sources.
• •Ensure appropriate identification of parts and materials following receiving inspection, including tagging where required.
• •Maintain traceability of parts and materials to the associated documentation, including internal tracking numbers.
• •Complete and maintain receiving inspection records.
• •Follow the required quarantine procedure for non-conforming or otherwise restricted materials and parts.
• •Identify and record applicable storage limitations and life limits.

Position Qualifications:

• •Ability to carry out accurate physical inspection of components, standard parts and materials against defined requirements.
• •Ability to review and verify accompanying documentation, data and traceability information.
• •Good attention to detail, with the ability to identify damage, packaging issues, shelf-life limitations and other conditions that could affect component integrity.
• •Ability to work in accordance with defined company processes, procedures and quality requirements.
• •Ability to maintain accurate inspection records and ensure effective identification and traceability of parts and materials.

Preferred Requirements:

• •Previous experience of incoming materials, goods receiving, quality or component inspection within an MRO, aerospace, defence or similarly regulated environment.
• •Knowledge of component and material traceability requirements.
• •Knowledge of aerospace component packaging requirements, including ATA 300 and ESD packaging.
• •Understanding of component shelf-life, storage limitations and life-limit requirements.
• •Experience of reviewing release documentation and identifying conformity against specified sources and requirements.
• •Knowledge of quarantine and non-conformance processes within a regulated environment.
