We're currently seeking a Network and System Administrator to join our IT team! This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Where will you work?

RamSoft is headquartered in Canada, with additional offices in India and the United States.

This role is based in our downtown Toronto office, and will work as part of our global IT team to support local and remote activities.

Accessibility note: We are currently located in an historic building, which has 4 steps at the door. Once inside, there is elevator access, and our office is all on one level.

What will you do?

Work in our Toronto office, handling all day-to-day tasks and operational activities in regard to troubleshooting and maintaining office servers, networks, and employee-specific equipment such as computers, printers, scanners, telephones, headsets, etc.

Configure, stage and ship server and workstation related hardware

Set up new hires with appropriate equipment, assisting with workstation arrangements, installing applicable software/hardware/wiring, ordering equipment, and assisting with IT Orientation Tasks

Train staff in IT-related Equipment and Applications

Participate in system design and planning sessions for the development and maintenance of corporate and customer IT systems

Maintaining accurate documentation and diagrams of IT systems

Monitor and report on system performance and key systems metrics

Provide technical support and troubleshoot user problems

Analyze system performance and recommend improvements

Design and maintain infrastructure systems and business application servers

Perform hardware and software installations, and operating system patching

Suggest improvements to internal support procedures

Participate in planning and make recommendations for distributed and enterprise hardware systems management software and architecture

Provide general systems administration tasks including system configuration management, OS installations, security updates, and urgent system patching

Support, administer, and optimize AI-powered solutions, automation platforms, Microsoft Copilot, and Azure AI services to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and end-user productivity.

Support and maintain healthcare imaging environments, including PACS, RIS, DICOM, HL7 integrations, imaging workstations, and related infrastructure to ensure reliable clinical operations and system performance.

Responsible for administration of infrastructure maintenance and upgrades for Internal Resources (Software and Hardware)

Implementation, Support, Administration, and Management of Windows 10/11, Server /2019/2022/2025 Operating Systems and CentOS and Ubuntu

Manage user issues on timely basis, updating tickets for accurate record keeping

Assist with preparation of hardware for Customer-facing Demos

Monitor performance of remote systems and perform performance tuning as necessary

Perform other related duties as required

What will you bring to RamSoft?

5+ years of experience in systems administration, network administration, desktop support, IT infrastructure, or a related technical role.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Azure, and other Microsoft cloud and SaaS technologies.

Experience supporting and administering Windows and macOS endpoints, including hardware, operating systems, applications, device configuration, and troubleshooting.

Strong knowledge of computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, servers, network adapters, peripherals, and diagnostic equipment.

Strong knowledge of networking technologies and services, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, VPNs, routing, switching, and network troubleshooting.

Experience with firewall, routing, and network security technologies, including Azure networking and platforms such as Cisco, Netgate/pfSense, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and SonicWall.

Experience with endpoint management, device provisioning, software deployment, patching, imaging, monitoring, and remote-support technologies.

Experience with endpoint security technologies, including antivirus, endpoint protection, EDR, and security policy management.

Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, automation platforms, and Microsoft Copilot technologies to improve IT operations, service delivery, troubleshooting, and end-user productivity.

Working knowledge of scripting and automation, such as PowerShell or comparable scripting technologies.

Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) and Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700) are preferred. Candidates actively working toward these certifications will also be considered.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, network, cloud, and end-user issues.

Ability to interpret and apply technical documentation, knowledge articles, vendor documentation, manuals, and troubleshooting procedures.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical users.

Strong customer-service skills, including patience, professionalism, and the ability to provide technical assistance, guidance, and user training.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with IT team members, other departments, and external vendors.

Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple incidents, requests, and technical initiatives simultaneously.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to develop practical solutions in a fast-paced IT environment.

Ability to document technical issues, configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and resolutions clearly and accurately.

Ability to occasionally lift equipment weighing up to approximately 20 kg (44 lbs.) for activities such as receiving shipments, deploying computers, and setting up IT equipment.
