Sentara is hiring a Nurse Unit Coordinator at Norfolk General Hospital's Neuro IMCU, in Norfolk, Virginia.

Shift: Full Time, Third Shift (7p-7a)

Unit Overview:

The Neuro IMCU is a blended unit focusing on all neuro patients, including stroke patients, back and neck post-surgical patients, and has one of the few Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) in the area.

We provide highly skilled care to the following types of neuroscience patients :

• •Back and Neck surgical patients
• •Epilepsy patients
• •All neurosurgeries (brain, pituitary, etc.)
• •Stroke patients (surgical and non-surgical)

Overview

​ Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty.

BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $47.42 - $68.63 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
