About SafeLease
At SafeLease, we're rethinking how P&C insurance is sold in an age of technological change. We believe the industry's biggest inefficiencies aren't technical problems — they're structural ones. And we're building the team to tackle them.
SafeLease is a profitable insurance business that designs, underwrites, and distributes specialty coverage for commercial property owners and their tenants. Most insurance companies either distribute products or bear the risk — we do both. We back our policies with our own capital, which means we control the full stack: product design, tech, and the speed at which we move. That end-to-end ownership lets us offer customers real flexibility, saving time and money for more than 4,000 properties insured for billions in value nationwide.
We're a team of 70, growing over 100% annually, and we've done it without sacrificing profitability or culture. Here, you'll get high discretion and a wide aperture of problems to solve. We embrace the newest technologies, move fast together, and operate with the intensity of a small company where every person's work is visible. If you're looking for a place to sharpen your craft alongside people who take their work seriously, you'll fit right in.
We are hiring an Office Manager to help launch and run our new NYC office. This person will own the day-to-day operations of the office, making sure the space is organized, welcoming, and running smoothly as our NYC team continues to grow.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and enjoys being the person people can rely on to get things done.
About the Role
To drive our mission forward, this role will:
Keep the office running smoothly — Manage day-to-day office operations, supplies, equipment, vendors, and building needs
Help build our new NYC office — Support the setup and ongoing needs of a brand-new office, helping put processes in place as the team grows
Create a welcoming environment — Greet visitors, coordinate meetings, and make sure employees and guests have a great experience in the office
Support new hires — Coordinate desks, equipment, supplies, and onboarding needs so new employees are ready to go from day one
Plan team events — Organize team activities, office celebrations, happy hours, and other events that bring people together
Manage vendors and building relationships — Coordinate with building management, cleaners, maintenance teams, and other vendors to make sure issues are handled quickly
Keep the office stocked and organized — Manage snacks, beverages, supplies, and other everyday office needs
Support safety and office procedures — Help manage building access, emergency procedures, maintenance, and other office requirements
Pitch in wherever needed — Support meetings, conferences, team projects, and other operational needs as they come up
About You
You'll be a great fit if you're organized, resourceful, and enjoy creating an office environment where people can do their best work.
You'll bring these skills and strengths:
3+ years of experience as an Office Manager or in a similar workplace or operations role
Experience managing the day-to-day needs of a busy office
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A proactive approach and ability to solve problems without needing a lot of direction
Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Comfortable managing vendors and building relationships

Proficiency with Google Workspace and other common office tools
A positive, professional approach when working with employees, visitors, and external partners
