Registered Nurse-OR

Full-Time, Weekend Shift (2x12’s 06:45 – 1930)

Operating Room I Lexington, KY

Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department.

Description:

• •Assessment of patients’ needs.
• •Development of patient care plan/s
• •Provision of direct care.
• •Management of patient care delivery.
• •Demonstrate leadership skills.
• •Support for quality care.
• •Customer relations and healing environment.
• •On call requirement weekends/holidays picked by rotation.
• •Operating Room Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during and after surgery.
• •Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking and creativity.
• •Must possess ability to supervise and delegate appropriate work to Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and Students.

Requirements:

• •Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.
• •Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• •Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
• •Minimum of 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse.
• •Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
• •ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
