Description of role:
TWI is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Operations Group Manager to lead the planning and delivery of multiple initiatives across the Professional Affairs Group.
Reporting to the Professional Membership Director, you will lead the modernisation and optimisation of operational structures, systems and governance. You will help translate the long term strategic objectives of the Executive and Professional Membership Boards into effective operational delivery, an excellent member experience and sustainable growth.
This is a broad and influential leadership role offering the opportunity to shape services, develop teams, improve governance and drive digital transformation across the Professional Affairs Group.
What you will be doing
Team leadership and development
Supporting the Professional Membership Director in building a strong, motivated and collaborative team
Establishing clear objectives and focused areas of responsibility
Developing team capability while promoting accountability, customer service and high quality delivery
Aligning team priorities with membership growth, effective governance, strategic positioning and technical excellence
Governance and compliance
Leading governance, risk and compliance activity, including the development and implementation of Institute policies
Building knowledge and capability across the team in relation to governance, risk and compliance responsibilities
Ensuring effective operational support for committees, branches, technical groups and the wider volunteer network
Developing robust operational plans and procedures for new membership propositions
Overseeing the continued development of key member benefits, including the Journal and its editorial function
Strategy, systems and member experience
Leading the improvement of customer relationship management and related systems
Driving digital transformation across member services, transactions and promotional activity
Championing effective automation and the appropriate use of artificial intelligence
Establishing a proactive customer service function that supports members throughout their membership journey
Strengthening the Professional Member Value Proposition and supporting growth in
Engineering Council registrants
Developing relationships with external Professional Engineering Institutions
Operational and financial delivery
Planning and coordinating multiple initiatives against agreed objectives, costs and operating parameters
Monitoring performance and using insight to identify risks, opportunities and areas for improvement
Supporting the sustainable growth and development of Professional Membership services

Working hours:
36 hours per week (full time), 8.30am -16.30pm Monday to Thursday (finishing at 16.15pm on Friday). Part-time and hybrid working available in some roles.
