The Operations Specialist supports the Regional Operations Manager in delivering efficient, high-quality operational services across the Belize, Guatemala, and Mexico Business Units. The position serves as a key partner to internal stakeholders, ensuring responsive service delivery, operational consistency, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

The Operations Specialist coordinates and oversees operational support activities while fostering a strong customer service culture focused on meeting the needs of internal clients. The role works collaboratively with Human Resources, Finance, Legal, Information Technology, and other functional teams to ensure seamless execution of operational processes and excellent stakeholder experience.

This position plays an important role in identifying opportunities for process optimization, standardization, and continuous improvement. The Operations Specialist supports the implementation of operational best practices, develops effective solutions to operational challenges, and helps improve efficiency, service quality, and organizational effectiveness across the region.

The Operations Specialist manages confidential information, supports employee-related administrative processes, and provides guidance to operational staff. They also contribute to change management and process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing scalability, consistency, and service excellence throughout the Business Units.

They may supervise one or more team members and is responsible for providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, guidance, and performance support. The role helps foster an inclusive, collaborative, and service-oriented team culture by supporting employee development, encouraging continuous learning, promoting accountability, and recognizing contributions. The Operations Specialist models TNC’s values and competencies, helping build team effectiveness, operational excellence, and strong stakeholder relationships across the region.

Responsibilities & Scope:

  • Ensures programmatic commitments, TNC policies and procedures; financial standards and legal requirements are met and managed compliance.
  • Reinforces consistency in the organization's policies and procedures and provides support related to relevant fields.
  • Acts independently within broad program goals to prioritize tasks in the absence of specific instructions and exercise independent judgment to identify and solve problems.
  • Implements and manage new initiatives that will ensure department and organization-wide goals and strategies are achieved.

  • Manages projects with several variables - sets realistic deadlines, manages a timeline, and ensures accountability.

  • Administers the HR transactions for the Belize, Guatemala and Mexico Business Units, partnering with HR, WO, HROS and local management.
  • Supports the HR annual processes such as the merit review, performance partnerships, etc.
  • Ensure new staff understand the Business Unit and Region organizational structures, including contacts for onboarding and other contacts in Finance, IT, Legal, Contracts.
  • Teams with Finance staff support annual budget and quarterly forecast preparation.
  • Monitors BU staff timesheet completion to avoid financial risks.
  • Manages BU Staff Delegations of Authority in coordination with Legal
  • May supervise administrative and operational staff, including responsibility for coaching, developing, and supporting employee performance and growth.
  • Promotes a collaborative, inclusive, and service-oriented team culture while modeling TNC values and competencies.

What You’ll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years related experience or equivalent combination;
  • Experience coordinating operational, administrative, human resources, finance, or related business processes.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a complex, fast-paced environment. Experience working across departments;
  • Experience building collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders and service providers.
  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive information using discretion and sound judgment.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English;

· Strong organization skills, accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks;
