This role is part of Alcon's Warehouse & Distribution function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging, and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.

As an Operator III (Local Materials Control CDL Truck Driver) supporting our warehouse in Houston, TX, you will be trusted to use your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A and perform safety checks of brakes, steering column, lights, and mirrors prior to each leg of your journey to ensure road readiness.

Specifics include:

• •Following and maintaining loading protocols, using chains and binders to secure cargo, and rechecking their stability throughout trips
• •Inspecting trailers before and after loading, paying attention to the status of airlines and jack positions, and adjusting them as vital
• •Always adhering to traffic safety regulations, reporting unsafe vehicle or road conditions to the supervisor
• •Assisting in unloading cargo and maintaining product quality
• •Additional warehouse shipping and receiving responsibilities may include receiving goods, verifying items against the shipment record, etc.
• •Gathering, verifying, and packing items for shipment according to specifications and the applicable transportation method
• •Recording received and shipped items

What You'll Bring to Alcon

• •High School Diploma or equivalent
• •The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
• •Work Schedule: 2nd Shift - 11:00 AM CST – 9:30 PM (Wednesday– Saturday)
• •Travel: Up to 10% (Home every night)
• •Work Location: Houston, TX
• •Relocation Assistance/Sponsorship: None

Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience

• •Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Class A
• •Ability to lift to 30 lbs., and stand for long periods
• •Prior experience operating multiple types of forklifts (Stand Up, Counterbalance, Riding Jack)
• •Prior experience with RF Scanners
• •SAP experience
