TLDR

We build software that helps charities, foundations and funders do their best work. We're loved by 2,000+ organisations across the UK — and we're just getting started. We're hiring someone to grow that number by building real relationships with the people doing the most important work in their communities.

We call this role Partnerships, not Sales. That's not spin — it's how we think about it. The organisations we work with aren't trying to hit revenue targets; they're trying to feed kids, support carers, and run youth programmes. You need to actually care about that, and you need to be very good at finding out what they care about.

What you'll do

Partnerships (core):

Grow Plinth's customer base across charities, foundations, local authorities, housing associations and NHS commissioners — in the UK and increasingly internationally

Spend serious time with existing customers generating warm referrals; this is one of our best lead sources

Send targeted, thoughtful outreach — not mass mailouts

Confidently cold call potential leads

Go to conferences, run events, and walk straight up to people who don't want to talk to you and make them glad you did

The work itself:

Have real conversations with organisations to figure out what they're actually trying to achieve — which is harder than it sounds when they're not just optimising for profit

Ask great questions, listen properly, and translate what you hear into why Plinth helps

Own the full pipeline from first conversation to signed contract

What We're Looking For

Everyone we hire into the partnerships team shares a few things, and then brings one of three distinct backgrounds. You don't need all three. You need the shared traits, and (at least) one profile that's genuinely you.

True of everyone:

You're extremely personable and genuinely outgoing. Not performs-extroversion-for-interviews outgoing. Actually outgoing.

You're a great listener. You ask the right questions and you don't rush to pitch.

You've done things no one asked you to do. You came up with an idea, built it, and it outlasted you. We want to hear those stories.

You can get someone to agree to a meeting.

Then, one of these is you:

You know the UK sector. You've sold to councils or charities in the UK before and have a network you can bring with you from day one.

You know the US sector. You've sold to grantmakers in the US and have a network you can bring with you from day one.

You've fundraised. You've worked as a fundraiser in the impact space and bring deep sector experience, even if selling is new to you.
