Patient Access Representative

Job Description​

Saint Luke’s South Hospital in Overland Park is currently looking for a PRN Patient Access Representative for the Admitting Department that will be responsible for the registration of patients. The ideal candidate has flexible hours to work weekdays as well as weekends . The hours could be between 7:00am-7:00pm as well as 7:00pm-7:00am. The minimum PRN requirement is 24 hours per month with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts as needed. This position requires strong computer skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to multitask in a fast paced work environment. We offer a competitive pay and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

• •Conducts professional patient interviews obtaining demographic, financial and biographical information
• •Understands insurance terminology, obtaining information to appropriately bill payors, verify patient insurance eligibility, confirm benefits eligibility, and gather statistical information in compliance with federal and state regulations
• •Complete payment transactions by using proper negotiating techniques to professionally collect money owed by our Patients and Guarantors, including making referrals to appropriate financial resources such as payment plans and lines of credit
• •Delivery of quality performance and service excellence

The key component of working in the Patient Admitting Department, is being the first welcoming face to our patients.
