Performance Engineer - Performance Testing, JMeter, Load Runner, API Performance & Java/JVM

Scope:

• •We provide 3PL customers with the integrated supply chain solution for planning, TMS, OMS & WMS.
• •The 3PL PSR team works closely with QA, Development, DevOps, DBA, Solution Architect and Infrastructure teams to ensure applications meet performance and scalability requirements.
• •The role requires both hands-on performance engineering and architectural understanding, ensuring scalable and future-ready implementations.
• •The individual will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing for enterprise applications.
• •Also, the individual will be responsible for analysing application behaviour and identify performance bottlenecks across application, database, infrastructure, and network layers.

Technical Environment:

• •Performance Testing Tools: Jmeter
• •API/Application: REST APIs, JSON/XML, HTTP/HTTPS, Web applications, Microservices, Postman
• •Scripting & Development: JavaScript, Groovy, Python, Shell scripting
• •Databases: Oracle, MariaDb; SQL query analysis and database performance analysis
• •Database Performance: Oracle AWR/ASH, execution plans, SQL tuning, database CPU/memory/I/O analysis
• •Application & JVM Monitoring: JVM, Garbage Collection (GC), Heap/Thread Dumps, JProfiler, Eclipse MAT or equivalent tools
• •Infrastructure & Monitoring: Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, OCI/Azure, CPU/Memory/Disk/Network monitoring, Grafana, OEM
• •DevOps/Agile: Git, Jenkins
• •Cloud: OCI/Azure integrations
• •Others: RDP/SSH, Linux command-line utilities, log analysis, performance profiling, capacity planning, and production performance monitoring.

What you’ll do:

• •Design and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests for enterprise applications.
• •Develop and maintain JMeter/API performance test scripts, workload models, test data, and execution scenarios.
• •Analyse application performance across application, database, JVM, infrastructure, and network layers.
• •Monitor system behaviour during load tests and identify CPU, memory, database, JVM, I/O, and response-time bottlenecks.
• •Perform root-cause analysis of performance issues using application logs, monitoring tools, AWR/ASH reports, thread dumps, heap dumps, and GC logs.
• •Work closely with Developers, QA, DBAs, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
• •Analyse test results and prepare performance reports, dashboards, and recommendations for stakeholders.
• •Support capacity planning, scalability assessment, and production-readiness reviews.
• •Identify opportunities to automate performance testing, monitoring, and reporting to improve efficiency and repeatability.
• •Participate in release planning and provide performance assessment and recommendations for production deployment.
• •Communicate performance findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.

What we are looking for:

• •Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
• •1-3 years of experience in Performance Testing / Performance Engineering.
• •Strong hands-on experience with JMeter and performance test scripting.
• •Good understanding of load, stress, endurance, scalability, and volume testing .
• •Strong experience in API performance testing using REST/HTTP, JSON/XML, and Postman.
• •Good understanding of Java/JVM , including heap, threads, GC, and JVM tuning.
• •Experience with JProfiler, Eclipse MAT, thread/heap dumps, and GC logs .
• •Experience with Linux/Unix, shell scripting, and application/log analysis .
• •Good knowledge of SQL and database performance , preferably Oracle, including AWR/ASH and execution plan analysis on OEM.
• •Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB , or equivalent monitoring tools.
• •Understanding of Kubernetes/containerized environments and exposure to OCI/Azure is preferred.
• •Strong performance troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, analytical, and communication skills.
• •Ability to work independently and manage multiple performance testing activities within timelines.
