About the opportunity:

At Mercy Health, each moment, no matter how small, truly matters - and as a Personal Care Assistant, you’ll make a genuine difference when it’s needed the most by:

• •Assist residents with daily personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• •Help with mobility, including transferring residents from bed to chair, assisting with walking, and using mobility aids safely.
• •Support residents with feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration, and assisting with special dietary needs.
• •Assist with medication reminders and support residents in taking prescribed medications, under the guidance of a nurse.
• •Help maintain a clean and safe living environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks, including making beds and cleaning rooms.
• •Assist with organizing and engaging in activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being.
• •Respond to residents' requests for assistance in a timely and professional manner.
• •Follow care plans as outlined by registered nurses and healthcare professionals, ensuring the highest standards of care are met.
• •Maintain confidentiality and respect for residents' privacy, dignity, and personal preferences.
• •Adhere to safety protocols, including infection control procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

What you’ll bring:

You’re resilient, compassionate and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are committed to delivering exceptional person-centred care.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

A minimum Certificate III or Cert IV in Aged Care or Individual Support.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

Police check.
