You will serve as a PHYSICAL SCIENCE TECHNICIAN in the PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. Duties

• •You will plan for availability of required special radiation and radioactivity instruments or equipment for each work assignment.
• •You will prepare or direct the preparation of all reports and other required radiological control documents related to work assignments.
• •You will determine program requirements for various evolutions and controlled areas.
• •You will develop input on radiological control requirements to be used during special jobs, assuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• •You will exercise independent judgement to coordinate work with other first line supervisors within the division.
• •You will provide on the job coaching and mentoring for junior RCTs at their worksites, responsible for developing RCTs to their full potential.
• •You will provide on scene radiological control responses for actual or potential radiological emergencies.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Planning, coordinating, and executing radiological control (RADCON) surveillances of nuclear operations to assess potential problems and enforce adherence to establish policies, procedures, and radiological control concepts; preparing technical reports of findings; and providing on-the-job coaching and mentoring of junior RADCON personnel.
