SUMMARY:

Operating within their applicable specialization, the Health Center physician is accountable for applying medical knowledge and delivering ambulatory medical care to Health Center visitors and patients. The physician works closely with other Health Center staff and care providers, including other physicians and medical assistants, to ensure the delivery of quality clinical care.

The physician will be accountable for maintaining a clinical (i.e., teaching) practice while supervising and evaluating medical students and assistants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful incumbent will perform the following duties, with or without reasonable accommodations:

• •Maintain a caseload of undergraduate medical students, as assigned; implement PCOM’s ambulatory care curricula for assigned students, including participation in lectures and small group sessions.
• •Supervise medical students in a clinical environment; complete student evaluations, as required.
• •Assist the Healthcare Center medical director with operating the center efficiently and within PCOM’s operating standards and standards for patient care.
• •Record or ensure the accurate entry of patient data in the Health Center’s electronic medical records (EMR) system.
• •Remain current with all charting, billing, and administrative duties.
• •Perform other role-related duties as assigned or requested.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• •Current or prior experience delivering clinical primary care, or other specialized field of medicine.
• •Current or prior experience teaching, including curriculum administration, and evaluating the effectiveness of medical students’ care delivery.
• •Strong collaboration skills.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• •Degree in osteopathic medicine, including completion of residency training.
• •Current board certification by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.
• •Active Pennsylvania license to practice osteopathic medicine with no restrictions.
• •Current DEA license with no restrictions.
• •Tail coverage for malpractice insurance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• •Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
• •Availability to work a fixed or variable schedule during the day or evening, including on weekends, to respond to Health Center calls.
• •Ability to view computer screens or monitors for extended periods.

Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience, education, and the responsibilities of the role.

The referenced salary range is based on PCOM good faith belief at the time of posting.
