Our growing Transportation Planning Group is seeking an intern to join our team. This position would be based in our Minneapolis, MN office and will support transportation, community, and sustainability planning projects, with opportunities to engage with other teams as available. The team leads a wide variety of projects for public agencies, including but not limited to: transportation safety plans, multimodal corridor and transportation studies, comprehensive plannings, transportation training programs, policy development, resiliency and sustainability initiatives, freight and rail planning, research projects, grant applications and funding strategies, and projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gases from the transportation system.

Responsibilities:

• •Assist in preparing materials for public or client-facing meetings and presentations.
• •Participate in engagement events and public outreach efforts.
• •Conduct research, compile quantitative and qualitative data, and conduct analyses to support ongoing projects.
• •Support the creation of reports, memos, final plans, and other deliverables.
• •Collaborate with team members to provide insights and recommendations based on analysis and research findings.
• •Provide general support to the teams, including data entry, stakeholder coordination, and preparation of proposal materials.
• •Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• •Current enrollment in a university’s planning, urban studies, or another related graduate or undergraduate program (for undergraduates at a junior or senior level).
• •Strong communication and writing skills.
• •Willingness to learn from a wide variety of planning projects.
• •GIS and/or graphic design skills preferred but not required.

Salary: $25.00/hr

Compensation is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, job location, internal equity, market analysis, and specific qualifications relevant to the role.
