Join the LEGO® Group’s Play Discovery team within the Creative Play Lab for a Paid Internship at our Head Quarters in Billund, Denmark!

Are you driven by an unquenchable passion for discovering new play opportunities through early-stage ideation, concept development, and prototyping? If so, you could be one of the talented students joining the Play Invention Digital Team in our Play Discovery department this year, where coding and interactive play combine!

Start date: February 2027

Length: 5 months (until end of June 2027) with possibilities for summer extension

As an intern in our Play Invention Digital Team within the Play Discovery department, you’ll join colleagues dedicated to letting loose their creative curiosity and exploring new play experiences. You’ll unleash your imagination across a range of innovation missions, collaborating cross-functionally to develop concepts into playable prototypes.

About our Internship:

In Creative Play Lab, we look for interns who bring something genuinely different to our innovation hub, adding fresh cultural insight, creative energy, and new ways of thinking. Your time with us will span personal curiosity projects, team capability-building initiatives, and innovation Missions. Every day is different and you’ll learn directly from a world‑class multidisciplinary team as you build your craft, embracing ambiguity as you discover new play experiences.

Meet the Play Invention Digital team:

The Play Invention Digital team bridges the realms of software, physical-digital technologies and creative coding to quickly prototype and iterate on ways to find new fun in interactive experiences. They focus on integrating software components into the play experience to develop platforms, apps and programs that uncover new play experiences.

Internship Eligibility:

To qualify for this internship opportunity, you must meet all of the following criteria:

(1) You are over the age of 18

(2) You will be enrolled in higher education as a ‘student’ for the full duration of the internship period

(3) You are currently due to graduate at some point after the end of the internship period

(4) You will not be requesting a delayed graduation date just to qualify for this internship

(5) This internship will contribute quantitatively towards your course credit

(6) This internship is a compulsory part of your education

(7) You are available to undertake this internship contract starting from the stated start date

(8) You are available to work full time for the full period up until the stated end date

(9) You are able to work on site in Billund, Denmark for this period

Brainstorm a range of possible digital prototypes to explore how to integrate new functions or interactivity into physical model

Use your coding skills to problem solve an array of software challenges

Iterate on your interactive play experiences to debug and evolve them based on feedback

Design and produce interactive play experiences at different levels of fidelity and use your creative skills to bring them to life in testable prototypes

We have many internships available in Creative Play Lab, each supporting a different team with their own focus area.
