We are seeking an experienced and people-focused Practice Manager to support Glenshane Veterinary Group, a busy and well-established mixed practice operating across three sites in Maghera, Fairhill, and Dungiven.

The Opportunity

As Practice Manager, you will provide operational and people leadership across Glenshane Veterinary Group's three sites, supporting colleagues, systems, and processes to ensure the continued success of the practices.

Working closely with the Clinical Director, Head Nurse, and wider management team, you will help deliver an outstanding experience for patients, clients, and colleagues while supporting the achievement of operational and business objectives.

This role combines hands-on operational management with people leadership and offers genuine opportunity to influence practice culture, improve efficiencies, develop teams, and support future growth.

You will play a vital role in creating an environment where colleagues feel supported, engaged, and empowered to deliver exceptional care every day.

The Practices and Leadership Structure

Glenshane Veterinary Group is a respected and established veterinary business serving communities across Maghera, Fairhill, and Dungiven.

The group operates from its main hospital site in Maghera, supported by branch practices in Fairhill and Dungiven, delivering high-quality veterinary care through a dedicated team of veterinary surgeons, nurses, receptionists, and support colleagues.

As Practice Manager, you will be based primarily in Maghera while supporting all three locations, helping to ensure consistency, efficiency, and a positive colleague and client experience across the group.

Working closely with the Clinical Director and Head Nurse, you will act as a key member of the practice leadership team, helping to align operational excellence with clinical objectives.

The Role

This is a broad and rewarding leadership position requiring strong organisational skills, excellent people management capability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

You will oversee the day-to-day operational and administrative management of the practices while maintaining a focus on employee engagement, client satisfaction, compliance, and performance.

Key responsibilities will include:

*Overseeing the day-to-day administration and operational management of the practices

*Leading, supporting, and developing the reception and administrative teams

*Managing rotas, annual leave planning, and workforce scheduling to ensure appropriate cover

*Coordinating recruitment activities, including advertising vacancies, arranging interviews, onboarding, and induction

*Supporting employee engagement, performance management, and development initiatives

*Working collaboratively with the Clinical Director and Head Nurse to achieve practice objectives

*Monitoring key performance indicators and supporting the delivery of business goals

*Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

*Managing client feedback and supporting the resolution of complaints

*Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and colleague experience

About You

We are looking for an experienced and confident people leader who is passionate about creating high-performing teams and delivering excellent client service.

You will bring proven management experience, ideally gained within veterinary practice, healthcare, hospitality, retail, or another service-led environment, along with a strong track record of supporting and developing people. Comfortable managing competing priorities, you will be highly organised, solutions-focused, and able to adapt quickly within a busy operational setting.

You are naturally collaborative and enjoy building positive relationships with colleagues at all levels. Whether supporting employee engagement, managing performance, coordinating recruitment activities, or helping teams navigate change, you will lead with empathy, professionalism, and accountability.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to handle complex situations, client concerns, and operational challenges with confidence and sound judgement.

Veterinary experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Most importantly, you will be an approachable and proactive leader who enjoys working alongside clinical and non-clinical teams to create an environment where colleagues feel supported, valued, and empowered to deliver exceptional care.

Working Pattern

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, across either 4 or 5 days, depending on business requirements.

The successful candidate will be based primarily at the Maghera site while supporting the wider practice group as required.
