Job Description:

We are seeking a Principal Solution Architect to support our growing Global System Integrator (GSI) business in the U.S., with a primary focus on observability and the broader Hybrid Cloud and Cloud Operations portfolio. In this highly customer- and partner-facing presales role, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping GSIs architect, position, and deliver solutions that address complex customer business and technology requirements.

The ideal candidate brings strong observability expertise, proven presales experience, and experience working within the GSI ecosystem. You will combine technical depth with consultative selling skills to lead architecture discussions, develop solution strategies, support active opportunities, and help customers and partners modernize their IT operations. This role is based in New Jersey.

Responsibilities:

• •Serve as a trusted technical advisor to Global System Integrators, customers, sales teams, and technology partners throughout the sales cycle.
• •Lead architecture discussions, solution design workshops, technical strategy sessions, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept activities.
• •Architect solutions with a primary focus on enterprise observability and Cloud Operations, including infrastructure, application, network, and cloud environments.
• •Support solution architectures spanning observability, hybrid and multi-cloud, virtualization, cloud management platforms, and software-defined networking.
• •Translate customer business and technical requirements into scalable solution architectures and clearly communicate the business value of proposed solutions.
• •Support the positioning and adoption of HPE OpsRamp and the broader HPE Cloud Operations portfolio, including HPE Morpheus and HPE VM Essentials.
• •Work closely with GSI partners to strengthen their technical knowledge, solution capabilities, and ability to position HPE solutions with their customers.
• •Conduct executive-level technical discussions, presentations, roadmap sessions, and architecture workshops.
• •Support presales activities including opportunity qualification, solution positioning, proposals, technical presentations, and active deal progression.
• •Identify opportunities for expansion, cross-selling, and increased solution adoption within partner and customer environments.
• •Collaborate across sales, consulting, engineering, delivery, support, and other technical teams to develop comprehensive customer solutions.
• •Provide technical leadership and guidance across geographically distributed teams and share knowledge and best practices within the Presales community.
• •Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies, industry trends, competitive solutions, and evolving customer requirements.

Education and Experience:

• •Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent technical experience.
• •12+ years of technical experience in enterprise infrastructure, cloud, networking, solution architecture, technical consulting, or related disciplines preferred. Candidates with fewer years may be considered based on the depth and relevance of their experience.
• •4+ years of relevant experience working within or closely supporting Global System Integrators (GSIs).
• •Proven presales or technical solution-selling experience in complex enterprise technology environments.
• •Strong experience with enterprise observability technologies and architectures.
• •Experience designing and positioning complex enterprise technology solutions for large customers and partners.
• •Experience engaging with senior technical, business, and executive stakeholders.
• •Experience working across geographically distributed teams and supporting complex customer or partner environments.
• •Relevant industry technology certifications are preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

• •Deep knowledge of enterprise observability and AIOps concepts, including monitoring, analytics, event correlation, automation, metrics, logs, traces, topology, and telemetry.
• •Experience with observability technologies such as HPE OpsRamp, Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, Grafana, Elastic, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, or comparable platforms.
• •Knowledge of hybrid and multi-cloud architectures and cloud management platforms.
• •Experience with technologies such as HPE Morpheus, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, VMware Aria, or comparable cloud management and automation platforms.
• •Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as HPE VM Essentials, VMware vSphere/ESXi, Nutanix AHV, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM, or comparable technologies.
• •Knowledge of software-defined networking, enterprise networking, SD-WAN, network security, micro-segmentation, routing and switching, and network automation.
• •Familiarity with automation and modern infrastructure technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, REST APIs, Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift.
• •Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, solution design, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept development.
• •Excellent customer-facing communication, presentation, whiteboarding, storytelling, and consultative problem-solving skills.
• •Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical, business, and executive audiences.
• •Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technical solutions to customer outcomes and business value.
• •Ability to influence and lead across customers, partners, and internal teams without direct authority.
• •Strong self-direction and ability to operate independently in a geographically distributed organization.
• •Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply that knowledge in customer and partner engagements.
