Principal Security Solutions Architect, AWS

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Security Solutions Architect to work with our largest customers. In this vital role, you will help overcome barriers to AWS adoption by identifying and tackling major security, risk, and compliance questions from stakeholders, as well as build and maintain CIO/CISO/CRO and executive-level relationships becoming their Security Advisor. You will work directly with customer security, audit, risk and compliance teams to help them understand how to confidently utilize AWS, identify risk and design controls, setup ongoing assurance, and establish automated compliance.

The successful candidate will become a trusted advisor to customers and will work with AWS sales, business development, solutions architecture and product teams to help accelerate adoption by removing compliance and audit as barriers and suggest improvements to our services to meet the customer needs.

This position is based in São Paulo, Brazil, and the role requires approximately 15% travel (including international).

• Key job responsibilities
• - Work with AWS customers to convey cloud computing security and risk management best practices
• - Work with other teams within AWS develop the internal security expertise and to drive revenue
• - Develop technical content, such as white papers, reference architectures, blogposts, workshops, or code samples that can be used by our customers to assist them in deploying secure cloud-based solutions
• - Assess security-related knowledge across AWS sales and solutions architecture teams and develop plans to address gaps
• - Presenting about security topics at AWS events, and represent AWS at security conferences by delivering presentations and lectures

• The Security, Networking and Compliance team is a team of specialists distributed in the main LATAM cities that handles the expert-level customer requirements that are too complex for generalist solutions architects to handle.

Basic qualifications

• - Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications
• - Experience architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.
• - 5+ years of experience in the design and implementation of complex IT systems
• - 5+ years of experience in an information security or compliance role
• - AI Security Skills with demonstrated experience securing solutions leveraging IA.
• - Proven experience in customer-facing, sales-aligned roles such as consultant, solutions engineer, or solutions architect, with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across multiple business units to drive and achieve results.

Preferred qualifications

• - Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers
• - Speak, write, and read fluently in Spanish
• - A background working in a highly regulated industry such as financial services (such as PCI-DSS), healthcare or defense, and local regulations such as General Data Protection Law (LGPD)
• - Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services and the AWS Security Specialty Certification are a plus
• - Ability to communicate effectively in English and Portuguese; within business and technical settings (Verbal and Written).
