Summary Section

The Project Controls Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining integrated project control systems to ensure effective planning, scheduling, cost management, progress monitoring, and performance reporting throughout the project lifecycle. The role supports the successful delivery of projects by providing accurate forecasting, timely analysis, and decision-support information to project management.

Responsibilities:

• •Develop, implement, and maintain project planning, scheduling, and cost control procedures in accordance with project and organizational requirements.
• •Prepare, develop, and maintain integrated project schedules using appropriate planning tools, ensuring alignment with project scope, milestones, and contractual requirements.
• •Monitor project progress against approved schedules and budgets, identify variances, analyze trends, and recommend corrective actions to achieve project objectives.
• •Establish and maintain project cost control systems, including budgeting, cost forecasting, commitment tracking, earned value analysis, and cost reporting.
• •Prepare and update project baseline schedules, recovery schedules, and look-ahead plans to support project execution and management decision-making.
• •Liaise with engineering, procurement, construction, planning, estimating, contracts, finance, and accounting functions to ensure accurate integration of schedule and cost information.
• •Measure project performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), productivity analysis, earned value management (EVM), and schedule performance metrics.
• •Prepare periodic progress reports, cost reports, schedule updates, cash flow forecasts, management dashboards, and master plan roll-ups for project stakeholders.
• •Evaluate the impact of scope changes, variations, delays, and risks on project schedule and cost, and provide recommendations for mitigation and recovery.
• •Provide commercial input and technical reviews for tenders, proposals, budgets, and project execution strategies.
• •Support project risk management by identifying schedule and cost risks, conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, and assisting in the development of mitigation plans.
• •Ensure project control information systems, reporting procedures, document control interfaces, and data integrity comply with project-specific and corporate requirements.
• •Participate in project reviews, management meetings, and performance assessments by providing timely and accurate planning and cost control information.

Qualifications including Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• •18+years of project cost controls experience required.
• •Must be experienced in utilizing cost systems to manage cost performance on a portfolio of several projects concurrently.
• •Strong business and analytical acumen.
• •Advanced interpersonal and communication skills to achieve results in an interdisciplinary work environment.
• •Proficiency in SAP PS cost system preferred. Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft office products.
• •Knowledge of SAP WBS structures preferred.Self starter who can take a leadership role in ensuring that an effective cost controls process is implemented and maintained across a portfolio of projects.
• •Knowledge of cost controls related with home office engineering work.
• •Knowledge of cost controls related with field maintenance and construction work performed in process plants.
