Principal Technical Program Manager, Amazon MGM Studios Financial Systems

Join Amazon MGM Studios Tech as the single-threaded owner of a multi-year program that migrates MGM's financial systems and the significant balance-sheet exposure and annual P&L activity they carry, out of multiple legacy platforms and into a single consolidated Amazon architecture. The Principal Technical Program Manager is a leadership role where you'll set strategic technical direction and drive a transformative, cross-organizational initiative spanning multiple business workstreams, a large portfolio of new deal types, across several engineering organizations, and a broad set of cross-functional stakeholders, with a firm deadline to fully deprecate MGM's legacy ERP and complete the integration.

• What You'll Do:
• - Own and deliver an ambiguous, very large, and complex program that spans multiple organizations and technology domains, serving as the single-threaded owner for all program-level milestones across several bespoke business workstreams (including international and domestic theatrical distribution, third-party content licensing, development and production, streaming, and production facilities).
• - Design and own the end-to-end data migration and cutover strategy that moves all financial data (master, transactional, and reference data) from legacy systems to the consolidated platform, spanning the full stack across business, middleware, financial automation, downstream financial infrastructure, and legacy systems to deprecate.
• - Develop workback plans per workstream, sequence migrations to manage operational risk, and coordinate with the studio's legal entity restructure, owning the sequencing trade-offs of its circular dependency with the program's builds.
• - Own the standardization and graduation framework — define deal-type primitives, establish system-of-record boundaries, enforce standard-versus-exception rules, and determine when each workstream is ready to transition from the program to BAU ownership.
• - Identify risks and opportunities in technical strategies, system architectures, and engineering organizational structures, resolving cross-workstream dependencies and engineering capacity gaps.
• - Influence and advise VP-level leadership across multiple Finance Technology and Studios Technology organizations — plus Finance, Accounting, Tax, and FinOps — on technical investment decisions, organizational alignment, and long-term platform strategy, making priority calls based on business value, partner readiness, and platform reuse.
• - Author the program's strategic narratives, define program-level tenets, and run the operating cadence (monthly and quarterly business reviews with senior leadership, and ad-hoc executive escalations).
• - Drive clarity in a highly ambiguous environment where business strategy, architectural approach, and even the problem definition may not yet exist.

• What You Bring:
• - 10+ years of technical program management experience, with a demonstrated track record of delivering very large, cross-organizational programs.
• - Deep expertise in large-scale systems and platform architecture, and the ability to evaluate and influence architectural strategies across multiple engineering organizations.
• - Executive-level communication and influence skills, with experience advising VP-level leaders and aligning competing priorities across organizational boundaries — without direct line authority.
• - Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technical decisions to business outcomes at scale.
• - Experience making irreversible sequencing decisions in complex migrations and managing controllership and operational risk.

You'll make the irreversible calls: which businesses cut over first, when to freeze legacy systems, how to manage the circular dependency between the entity restructure and the program's builds, and which requirements to simplify without impacting customers. This is a role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, drives alignment across senior leaders with competing roadmaps, and delivers outsized, measurable business value and productivity impact.

This role reports to a Senior Manager of Software Development and regularly presents to VP-level leadership across the program's Steering Committee.

• About the team
• Prime Video (PV) Financial Systems (FinSys) calculates, pays, receives payments, accounts for and reports all financial activities to operate a digital streaming and studios business. We manage the onboarding of commercial contractual terms and enable seamless monetization of content and assets through mechanisms like PV related purchases, rentals, subscriptions, ads and theatrical releases. Basic qualifications

• - 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
• - 10+ years of technical product or program management experience
• - 5+ years of software development experience
• - Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
• - Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
• - Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

Preferred qualifications

• - 10+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
• - Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
• - Experience working at a TV Network, broadcaster, or an online streaming platform, specializing in digital video delivery or streaming media technologies

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
