Printing Press Operator

Description

Join the Valpak Manufacturing Center as a Printing Press Operator . In this hands-on manufacturing role, you will work in a clean, climate-controlled production facility operating and supporting large commercial printing presses that produce millions of direct mail advertising pieces delivered to homes across the country.

No commercial printing experience? No problem. If you have manufacturing experience, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn, we will provide paid, hands-on training through our VMC Progression Program to help you build a long-term career.

What Your Day Looks Like

You will spend your shift working alongside an experienced production team operating large commercial printing equipment in our climate-controlled manufacturing facility. You will help prepare materials, monitor print quality, make machine adjustments, inspect finished products, and keep production running safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do

Operate and monitor large commercial printing press equipment.

Set up paper, plates, ink, and other materials needed for production.

Monitor print quality throughout production and inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.

Perform routine machine adjustments and basic preventative maintenance to maximize production and minimize downtime.

Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and notify Senior Press Technicians of more complex repairs.

Assist with press changeovers and production setup.

Maintain clear communication regarding equipment performance, quality, maintenance, and production concerns.

Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe while following all company safety procedures.

Work closely with teammates to meet production schedules and quality expectations.

Qualifications

Offset/Heat set Press Operator

M110 Offset/Heat set Press Operator

Previous experience in manufacturing, machine operation, warehouse production, commercial printing, or another industrial environment is preferred.

Commercial printing or heat-set web press experience is a plus but not required.

5 years of Offset/Heat set Press experience required.

Ability to read and understand basic technical instructions.

Basic math skills.

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This is an active manufacturing position in a climate-controlled production facility. Candidates must be able to:

Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.

Lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds.

Climb ladders and work safely at varying heights.

Work around large production equipment and moving machinery.

Work in a noisy manufacturing environment where hearing protection is required.
