Role
The Private Credit Analyst will maintain financial models and capital structure data across a growing universe of business development companies (BDCs) and other closed‑end private credit funds, supporting Octus’s coverage of the private credit market. The Analyst will possess strong analytical skills, financial statement fluency, and the tenacity to work through complex, data‑heavy deliverables on a recurring schedule.
Responsibilities:
Maintain three‑statement financial models for a portfolio of 40–50 BDCs reporting quarterly
Upload and maintain capital structure data
Produce portfolio updates and summaries aligned to each company’s reporting cadence
Track financing activity across the BDC market, logging new reported financing from banks and other lenders, including cost of capital and provider details
Contribute to full private credit coverage used in individual company analysis, published reports, and site content, including expansion of quarterly trend reports to incorporate financing activity overviews
Respond to recurring data requests from internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
Degree in economics, accounting, or finance
Ability to interpret financial statements to evaluate business performance and translate business drivers into quantitative models
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the tenacity to work through complex issues
Strong interest in credit markets or financial markets more broadly
Eagerness to learn and apply new skills to grow professionally and personally
