Private Equity Analyst Program – Investment Team (Capital Solutions)

Job Description

The Analyst Program is a two-year full-time employment program designed for early-career professionals who are motivated to build a long-term career in private equity. The program begins with a three-week tailored training module and continues with hands-on learning, close collaboration with experienced investment professionals, and structured on-the-job development. Participants who perform strongly may have the opportunity to continue their career at LGT Capital Partners as an Associate.

The position is available in either Switzerland near Zurich or London. The anticipated start date is 1 July 2027 .

The Capital Solutions Investment Team offers a distinctive and supportive platform for candidates who want to build a career in private equity by gaining exposure to direct company-level investments and secondary transactions across leading businesses, portfolio assets and private equity structures.

You will join a team of experienced investment professionals focused on identifying and investing in high-quality businesses through secondary transactions and direct minority investments. Since 1998, LGT Capital Partners has been one of the leading secondary investors globally, acquiring more than USD 32bn in commitments. Since 2015, the firm has also built a strong direct minority investment practice, investing more than USD 5bn across over 65 direct investments. In this role, you will gain exposure to the full private equity investment process across industries, geographies and transaction types, with support from colleagues who are committed to knowledge sharing and development.

• •Direct equity secondaries , including equity recaps and follow-on financing;
• •GP-led secondaries, such as single-asset and multi-asset continuation vehicles; and
• •LP-led secondaries, acquiring well-diversified and high-quality private equity portfolios.

In this role, you will contribute to the full investment lifecycle across secondary transactions and direct minority investments, while developing core private equity skills through a broad range of responsibilities, including:

• •Conduct extensive financial, market and business due diligence, including project management of transaction workstreams and coordination with external advisors;
• •Prepare investment memoranda, including detailed valuation analysis and LBO models on companies;
• •Valuation, modelling and analysis of various private equity funds;
• •Contribute to investment committee and team discussions;
• •Attend management and board meetings, participate in site visits, and support investment monitoring;
• •Pro-actively identify attractive investment opportunities, leveraging and maintaining key internal databases, systems and tools;
• •Prepare materials for internal meetings and external client presentations, plus ad-hoc market analysis.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with:

• •strong academic credentials from a leading university at Bachelor or Master level in business, economics, finance, accounting or other quantitative degrees;
• •prior internship experience in finance, investment banking, PE, or consulting is of advantage;
• •solid understanding of financial statements and fundamental business analysis;
• •motivation in enhancing financial acumen and broadening knowledge of the fast-moving private equity market;
• •excellent written and spoken English, with additional languages is a plus advantage;
• •and a collaborative, curious, organized, and entrepreneurial mindset.
