Kearney County Health Services in Minden is looking for an experienced PRN X-Ray & CT Technologist to provide weekend coverage and on-call support.

Compensation:

• •$10/hour on-call availability pay while assigned to weekend call
• •$80/hour callback rate when called in
• •2-hour minimum callback pay
• •Additional compensation opportunities may be available based on experience and qualifications

Schedule & Call Requirements

This position is designed specifically for weekend PRN coverage .

• •30-minute maximum response time when called in
• •Weekend shifts may include Friday night, Saturday day and night and/or Sunday day and night coverage based on department needs
• •Participation in a scheduled weekend on-call rotation; weekend call frequency will be determined based on staffing and department needs
• •Must be able to report to KCHS promptly and safely when called
• •Availability for occasional additional shifts may be available by mutual agreement
• •Scheduling will be coordinated in advance whenever possible

Position Summary

The PRN Weekend X-Ray & CT Technologist performs diagnostic imaging examinations in a safe, efficient, accurate, and patient-centered manner.

The technologist will perform general radiography and CT examinations , including emergency and inpatient imaging as needed. The position may also assist with other imaging services and procedures based on competency and department needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Radiography/X-Ray

• •Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations according to established protocols.
• •Properly position patients and operate radiographic equipment.
• •Select appropriate technical factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• •Practice radiation safety and ALARA principles.
• •Provide compassionate, respectful, and professional patient care.

CT

• •Perform CT examinations according to established protocols.
• •Safely administer and monitor contrast media as appropriate and within scope of practice.
• •Verify patient history, allergies, laboratory results, and other information necessary for safe CT examinations.
• •Recognize and appropriately respond to potential contrast reactions or other patient concerns.
• •Produce diagnostic-quality images while maintaining radiation safety.

General Responsibilities

• •Perform quality control and quality assurance activities as assigned.
• •Review examinations for image quality and completeness.
• •Communicate appropriately with ordering providers, nursing staff, radiologists, and other members of the healthcare team.
• •Maintain accurate documentation and exam records.
• •Follow KCHS policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards.
• •Maintain confidentiality and protect patient information in accordance with HIPAA.
• •Assist with other radiology procedures within demonstrated competency.
• •Maintain a professional and positive working relationship with patients, providers, and coworkers.
• •Respond appropriately to emergency and trauma situations.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• •Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• •Current ARRT certification in Radiography.
• •Current Nebraska Medical Radiography license .
• •Documented CT education, certification, or demonstrated CT competency.
• •Current BLS certification .
• •Demonstrated competency in general X-ray and CT.
• •Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in an emergency/rural healthcare setting.
• •Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• •Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
• •Ability to meet the required on-call response time.

KCHS's existing radiology position similarly requires Nebraska Medical Radiographer licensure, ARRT certification, BLS, and CT education or documented CT proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

• •ARRT CT certification.
• •Previous emergency department and/or hospital-based CT experience.
• •Experience with trauma and emergency imaging.
• •Experience with contrast-enhanced CT.
• •Experience with C-arm, DEXA, or other imaging modalities.
• •Previous rural hospital experience.
• •Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
