JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Process Development and Automation Engineer II provides technical engineering support for laboratory automation, equipment, and data systems within a complex clinical laboratory environment. This role supports the implementation, integration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of automation solutions, including PLC-based systems, SCADA/AVEVA platforms, and related data and reporting tools. The Engineer II collaborates cross-functionally to support system design, validation, commissioning, and ongoing operational performance.

Essential Duties

Include but are not limited to the following:

• •Serve as the technical lead for AVEVA implementation, expansion, and sustainment across automation systems.
• •Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC-based data collection and integration solutions.
• •Configure, validate, and support AVEVA, Historian, Insight, and associated reporting systems.
• •Partner cross-functionally with teams to ensure accurate automation performance data.
• •Design and implement automation data structures, tags, state models, downtime tracking, fault monitoring, and KPI reporting.
• •Support commissioning, SAT, go-live, and lifecycle management of new automation systems.
• •Drive continuous improvement initiatives using equipment performance and reliability data.
• •Develop dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility into throughput, downtime, MTTR, MTBF, and OEE metrics.
• •Support AVEVA verification activities and ensure system compliance in regulated laboratory environments.

Minimum Qualifications

• •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and 3+ years relevant industry experience.; or Associates degree in Engineering, Technology, Electronics, or similar field with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• •3+ years relevant industry experience.
• •3+ years of experience in building automation systems.
• •2+ years of experience developing and commissioning automated systems.
• •Possesses advanced knowledge of engineering theories, practices and procedures and applies this knowledge and skills to complete assignments.
• •Experience working with middleware devices, PC knowledge, and networking and interface protocols.
• •Experience integrating databases with automated systems.
• •Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• •Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

• •Rockwell PLC programming (Studio 5000).
• •AVEVA/Wonderware, Ignition, Historian, Insight, or SCADA experience.
• •SQL, databases, and industrial data systems.
• •Rockwell HMI development and troubleshooting
• •Automation networking and system integration.

The base pay for this position is

$61,300.00 – $122,700.00 In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
