Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.? Vishay-Ametherm is currently seeking applicants for a Process Engineer . As a Process Engineer , you will play a crucial role in helping a hands-on role focused on improving how Ametherm tests products, investigates failures, develops technical systems, and transfers engineering knowledge.

Job Location:

The ideal candidate will be working on-site in the state of Nevada, USA in Carson City. Carson City is the state capital and is just a quick 30 minutes from the beautiful Lake Tahoe and 30 minutes away from The Biggest Little City, Reno.

What You Will Be Doing

• •• Automated testing: Develop or improve test stations, data acquisition, reporting, and product characterization using tools such as LabVIEW and Python.
• •• Reliability and qualification: Strengthen life testing, validation methods, qualification plans, and documentation.
• •• Failure analysis: Create a consistent process for investigating customer returns and internal electrical anomalies, identifying root causes, and verifying corrective actions.
• •• Laboratory and test equipment: Review calibration, fixtures, wiring, equipment setup, preventive maintenance, and repeatability of test methods.
• •• New product support: Assist with prototypes, sensor applications, circuit interfaces, signal conditioning, PCB work, and technical proof-of-concept projects.
• •• EMI/EMC and signal integrity: Support products or customer applications involving electrical noise, grounding, signal integrity, or demanding operating environments.
• •• Engineering systems and mentoring: Develop practical test procedures, design-review checklists, troubleshooting methods, and training for Ametherm engineers and technicians.
• •• Customer and Vishay technical support: Participate in selected technical reviews and high-reliability opportunities where Scott’s background may add value.

Required Qualifications

• •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• •3+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience, preferably in electronics, semiconductor, ceramics, sensors, thermistors, or other precision component manufacturing.
• •Experience developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes and production equipment.
• •Strong understanding of process control, statistical process control (SPC), capability analysis, and data-driven process improvement.
• •Demonstrated experience with root-cause analysis (RCA), corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• •Ability to troubleshoot complex process, equipment, material, and product-quality issues.
• •Experience developing and maintaining process specifications, work instructions, control plans, PFMEAs, and process documentation.
• •Experience working with yield improvement, scrap reduction, cycle-time improvement, and process capability.
• •Ability to analyze manufacturing data and identify trends, variation, and opportunities for improvement.
• •Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous-improvement methodologies.
• •Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI), process development, process qualification, and production ramp-up.
• •Ability to work cross-functionally with Quality, R&D, Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Production teams.
• •Strong communication, organizational, project-management, and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

This position is primarily based in a thermistor manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with production equipment, manufacturing processes, engineering laboratories, and production personnel.

The role requires a hands-on presence on the manufacturing floor and may involve standing, walking, bending, and working around production equipment and materials. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required. Occasional travel, extended hours, or schedule flexibility may be required based on business needs, production requirements, equipment installations, or project timelines.
