Procurement Manager

This role is pivotal in ensuring the continued success of the ZAF inventory management teams, setting strategic direction. The role demands a drive for continuous improvement and as such you will be able to demonstrate considerable change in management abilities. You will be highly focused, results driven by individuals with demonstrable experience of process improvement and achieving organizational profitability. You will have the experience of leading and developing others both within your direct responsibility and within the wider organization. You will be self-motivated and a confident decision maker, used to working autonomously within a set guideline. This position would suit someone with a varied background in supply chain management, but with particular focus on inventory management principles and techniques. The role also includes oversight of the vendor application process, procurement of non-stock items and working with different departments of the business to reduce high stock levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for the effective management and supervision of the ZAF Purchasing Teams

2. Drive development of regular reporting including Key Performance Metrics for supply chain management

3. Drive the team to achieve group and personal objectives particularly those related to profit

improvements, service attainment and personal growth

4. Drive the team to ensure that all relevant supplier details and product price information is accurately maintained on the appropriate system.

5. Drive the team to ensure Inbound Freight costs are managed to optimize costs for the supply chain

6. Constantly review and suggest improvements to processes to bring efficiencies/cost savings to the Supply chain

7. Develop supplier relationships and introduce measurement tools to improve supplier performance

8. Maintain supply agreements and quality agreements with suppliers

9. Develop internal relationships, influencing key internal customers to promote professional purchasing principles across the business ensuring timely communication and problem resolution

10. Develop regular communication with key stakeholders to address business needs and meet organizational objectives

11. Implement and Maintain appropriate Budgetary control, providing all reporting under the guidance of the Executive Director Europe and the Financial Manager ZAF

12. Manage and Maintain compliance to Company Quality Systems, Sarbanes Oxley regulations and all other appropriate Regulatory bodies

13. Drive and develop individual skills set to meet the requirements of their role, ensuring they have the skills set required to meet their business objectives

14. Progress and achieve set objectives as defined by the Departmental Head on a yearly basis

15. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required

16. Supporting the business and reducing high stock levels will be a key focus

Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing

all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.

Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behaviour in completing job duties and assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 5 years Purchasing experience within an international company at senior management level

Thorough knowledge of supply chain processes is required with a comprehensive understanding of ERP systems

Computer Literate using Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word, Excel (Advanced), PowerPoint
