We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Embedded Firmware Engineer specializing in Motor Control Units (MCU). In this role, you will design, develop, and validate high-performance, real-time embedded software for advanced electric powertrain systems. You will be responsible forimplementing cutting-edgemotor control algorithms(like FOC), developing low-level drivers on TI C2000 platforms, and ensuring robust communication and safety compliance (ISO 26262). If you thrive in a fast-paced environment at the intersection of power electronics, control theory, and embedded systems, we want you to be on our team. Key Responsibilities 1. Motor Control Firmware Architecture:  Algorithm Implementation: Integrate and optimize Field-Oriented Control (FOC) algorithms tailored for Brushless DC (BLDC) and Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM).  Control Loops: Design and implement mathematical transforms (Clarke/Park), Space Vector PWM (SVPWM), advanced rotor position estimation, and precise PI/PID control loops.  Sensor Integration: Interface feedback systems using Hall sensors and high-resolution SIN/COS encoders for accurate speed and position tracking.  Real-Time Scheduling: Structure and integratemotor control functions with high-priority realtime interrupts (ISRs) and deterministic task scheduling. 2. MCU Peripheral & Driver Development:  Bare-Metal Engineering: Develop robust, bare-metal Embedded C drivers for critical peripherals including ADC, PWM, SPI, I2C, CAN, CAN-FD, and UART.  Target Platforms: Architect firmware specifically for Texas Instruments C2000 MCUs (including F28003x, F280039C, and F280049C series).  Inverter & Gate Control: Configure advanced PWM modules for 3-phase inverter control, synchronized ADC triggering, and hardware-level fault protection.  Hardware Interfacing: Integrate gate driver ICs and implement proactive fault monitoring architectures.  OS Integration: Support and maintain firmware architectures built on RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS or TI SYS/BIOS. 3. Communication, Networking & Functional Safety:  Protocol Development: Design and implement CAN 2.0B and CAN-FD communication stacks, supporting J1939 or proprietary automotive/industrial CAN protocols.  Inter-Processor Comm: Develop high-speed SPI communication links between primary motor control MCUs and dedicated safety co-processors.  Network Management: Create, maintain, and manage network databases (CAN DBC files).  Safety & Diagnostics: Implement strict watchdog routines, comprehensive fault-handling mechanisms, and safe-state transitions aligned with ISO 26262 Functional Safety guidelines. 4. Hardware Integration, Debugging & Validation:  Board Bring-Up: Lead initial hardware bring-up, firmware debugging, and full-stack system integration.  Instrumentation: Utilize diagnostic tools including JTAG debuggers, TI Code Composer Studio (CCS), digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and CAN network analyzers.  Documentation: Generate meticulous technical documentation, firmware architecture designs, validation test reports, and formal release notes. Role Requirements Required Skills & Qualifications:  Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, or a closely related field.  Embedded Software: Mastery of Embedded C programming with extensive experience in baremetal micro-controller environments.  Hardware Expertise: Proven track record working with TI C2000 MCUs or comparable highperformance DSP/MCU architectures.  Control Theory: Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of FOC motor control principles (Clarke/Park transforms, SVPWM, tuning PI/PID loops).  Peripherals: Hands-on experience configuring ADC, PWM, SPI, CAN/CAN-FD, and UART at a register level.  Toolchains & Testing: Proficiency using JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, and creating/managing CAN DBC files.  Model-Based Design: Competency in MATLAB/Simulink for auto-code generation and model-inthe-loop integration.
