Are you a creative self-starter who enjoys solving complex problems and turning ideas into real-world products? As a Product Manager at Alarm.com, you’ll help define, build, and launch a new commercial product at the intersection of software, IoT, and AI-enabled development.

This is not a traditional PM role focused only on customer discovery and requirements writing. We are looking for a technically minded, execution-oriented person who is excited to use AI tools as part of their daily work—to accelerate research, prototype ideas, analyze information, and contribute directly to the product’s technical development. You’ll work closely with engineering, design, quality, and business stakeholders to bring a new offering to market while building strong product, technical, and AI fluency along the way.

WHY THIS ROLE

This role is a chance to help shape a new product offering from an early stage, with real influence over its direction, workflows, and execution. Rather than stepping into a mature product, you’ll help define what gets built and how the team builds it.

It’s also a unique opportunity to go beyond traditional product management. In this role, you’ll use AI tools as a core part of your workflow—not just to support planning and analysis, but to prototype, automate, and contribute directly to technical execution. If you’re excited by ownership, technical problem-solving, and building something new with modern tools, this role offers an unusually hands-on start to a product management career.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Strategy & Roadmap Definition: Contribute to and help shape the product roadmap and vision for a new offering from concept to release. Support the translation of customer problems into requirements and technical specifications, with guidance from senior stakeholders .

Cross-Functional Delivery & Execution: Partner closely with Software Engineering, Quality Engineering, and the UX Design team, Design to shepherd features through development. Collaborate with Quality and Beta teams to test, validate, and streamline functionality to ensure a high-value release.

AI-Assisted Technical Contribution: Actively use AI-assisted tools to accelerate research, analyze data, and contribute to workflows. Go beyond traditional PM boundaries by using AI-assisted development tools to contribute directly to the code stack, internal tools, prototypes, or test assets—thriving in a hands-on, implementation-focused environment.

Stakeholder Alignment & Enablement: Communicate and support alignment on product direction and priorities across teams. Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Support to build excitement, create training materials, and support go-to-market strategies.

Product Lifecycle Optimization: Assist in tracking product adoption, usage metrics, and customer feedback to support future prioritization decisions . Partner with Customer Support and Operations to triage and resolve issues, ensuring an outstanding end-to-end customer experience.

About You

Extreme Ownership: You take complete accountability for moving work forward, proactively stepping in to resolve challenges and keep the product on track.

Continuous Learner: You possess a growth mindset and are eager to build deep expertise in our product, the market, and your own technical and AI fluency.

Cross-Functional Collaborator: You possess exceptional communication skills and excel at bridging the gap between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, keeping everyone aligned and excited about the product vision.

Hands-on Problem Solver: You love getting close to the implementation and enjoy bridging the gap between strategy and technical execution.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) is required

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences

1–2 years of professional experience (product, engineering, project management, technical operations, or related roles)

Demonstrated comfort learning and using AI tools to solve problems, improve workflows, and accelerate execution

Interest in contributing directly to technical work, including prototypes, scripts, internal tools, or code-assisted implementation

Strong interest in working at the intersection of software, IoT systems, and AI-enabled development

Demonstrated ability to take initiative, operate in ambiguous environments, and learn quickly

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, large language models, or workflow automation tools

Exposure to software development, scripting, prototyping, or technical troubleshooting

Experience working on technical products in a collaborative, cross-functional environment

Interest in product roles that blend strategy, execution, and hands-on technical contribution

Please note that sponsorship of new applicants for employment authorization, or any other immigration-related support, is not available for this position at this time.
