Description

HOH Water Technology is a third-generation, family-owned water treatment company proudly celebrating over 58 years in business. Our success has always been about more than water treatment. It is about investing in people and creating lasting impact for our clients, coworkers, and community. We believe our people are our greatest competitive advantage, and we have built a culture centered around our Core Values of Accountability, Creativity, Teamwork, and Service.

We are looking for a Water Safety Product Manager who wants to play a strategic role in shaping the future of HOH's Water Safety product line. This position combines technical expertise, product management, vendor partnership, and field enablement to help drive revenue growth, profitability, and operational excellence across our water safety business.

About the Role

This is a highly visible, strategic role on our Technical Services Team that owns the Water Safety product line from end to end. The Product Manager serves as the organization's subject matter expert and single point of accountability for product knowledge, vendor relationships, technical support, and field enablement — translating technical complexity into practical guidance that drives results in the field.

This is not a client-facing role; it is a field-enabling role. The Product Manager owns the product, while the Water Safety Account Manager owns the client relationship. The measure of success is not how often the Product Manager is in the room — it's how rarely they need to be.

You will:

Own the Water Safety product portfolio end-to-end, ensuring accurate and complete product files in ERP and CRM systems.

Manage strategic vendor relationships, balancing cost, availability, and technical support for the field.

Conduct regular product line reviews and lead portfolio updates as market and client needs evolve.

Own water safety pricing in collaboration with sales leadership, maintaining margins at or above target.

Develop troubleshooting resources, decision guides, and playbooks that reduce escalations and reliance on individual expertise.

Coach Field Service Engineers, Business Development Managers, and the Water Safety Account Manager through technical situations, and deliver training on the product portfolio.

Own the technical methodology and design standards for Water Management Programs.

Partner with Operations on outbreak response protocols and with the Technical Solutions Manager on innovation projects.

Own product launches, market research, competitive analysis, and go-to-market strategy for the water safety portfolio.

Report to our Palatine, Illinois office as needed while supporting field teams throughout the organization.

What We Offer

Competitive Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience of $100,000-$130,000.

Comprehensive Benefits: Medical and Dental Insurance with generous employer contributions, HSA contributions, 401(k) with company matching, Life Insurance, and much more.

Generous Time Off: PTO and paid holidays, including HOH's year-end holiday break.

Profit Sharing Bonus: Participate in our company-wide profit-sharing program.

Engaging Culture: Caring leaders who invest in people and create meaningful opportunities for growth and connection.

Career Growth: Ongoing professional development, technical training, industry education, and leadership development opportunities.

You'll Love This Role If...

You're technically fluent in water safety. You deeply understand water safety standards, regulations, control measures, engineering, and troubleshooting, and can credibly diagnose problems and train others to do the same.

You think like an internal service provider. You measure your success by whether the sales and service team can win and retain business — not by your own visibility or activity.

You manage vendors strategically. You balance cost, quality, availability, and performance to make sure the field always has what it needs.

You build systems, not tribal knowledge. You create repeatable, documented processes that keep information current, accessible, and usable by the whole team.

You're collaborative and available. You work cross-functionally without ego, and you show up — physically or remotely — when the team needs support.

You do the hard thing when it matters. You're willing to say what needs to be said, to peers and leadership alike, in service of the greater good.

What You'll Be Doing

Product & Vendor Management

Own the water safety product portfolio end-to-end, ensuring accurate and complete product files in ERP and CRM systems.

Manage vendor relationships strategically, developing partnerships that improve cost, availability, and technical support.

Conduct regular product line reviews, retiring, adding, or modifying products as market and client needs evolve.

Maintain clearly defined market and segment targets, evaluating shifts in demand and competitive dynamics.

Own water safety pricing in collaboration with sales leadership, maintaining margins at or above target and setting pricing guardrails for the Account Manager.

Field Enablement & Capability Building

Develop and maintain a library of troubleshooting resources, decision guides, and application playbooks organized by application type.

Produce and continuously improve client-facing technical sales literature that accelerates revenue growth.

Develop product application documentation that ensures consistent, repeatable program execution across all regions.

Coach Field Service Engineers, Business Development Managers, and the Water Safety Account Manager through technical situations, and design and deliver technical training on the portfolio.

Technical Support & Program Standards

Serve as the primary technical resource for the sales and service teams on water safety applications.

Own the technical methodology and design standards for Water Management Programs.

Equip the field to clearly articulate the HOH Water Safety value proposition.

Review and guide technical solution recommendations to fit each client's specific water safety needs.

Engage directly with clients when requested by a Field Service Engineer, Business Development Manager, or Account Manager — direct engagement is the exception, not the default.

Cross-Functional Partnership

Collaborate with Operations and the Water Safety Account Manager to execute outbreak response protocols.

Engage with the Technical Solutions Manager on innovation projects as the water safety domain expert.

Own product launches, market research, competitive analysis, and go-to-market strategy for the water safety portfolio.

Support general marketing efforts tied to the water safety line.

Serve as a dotted-line resource to the sales and service teams, influencing product positioning and margin stewardship.

You'll join a growing, privately held Certified Evergreen company with a strong culture, long-term stability, and a commitment to investing in people, innovation, and sustainable growth for generations to come.
