Product Owner, Air Offers
We are seeking a Product Owner, Air Offers to join our global Air Offers team, where innovation knows no borders. As Product Owner, Air Offers, you will drive product vision, strategy, investment and execution across the product lifecycle to meet revenue, profitability, adoption, and customer satisfaction goals. You will work at the intersection of travel retailing, revenue optimisation, distribution and technology, translating customer needs, market trends, commercial opportunities, and usage insights into scalable product capabilities.
The role requires business and product management skills combined with the ability to work effectively with technical teams. Knowledge and practical understanding of APIs is a advantage, particularly as the travel ecosystem continues to evolve towards modern, API-driven retailing and integration models.
What you'll do
- Drive product vision, strategy, business requirements, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with customer needs, business objectives, and technology strategy throughout the product lifecycle.
- Identify opportunities to help travel agencies and other distribution customers optimise revenue, strengthen retailing capabilities, and improve commercial performance.
- Manage product P&L, investment decisions, scope, roadmap, and priorities to increase profitability, adoption, and strategic customer value.
- Monitor the competitive and market landscape through customer engagement, market research, industry forums, and conferences.
- Translate customer needs, commercial opportunities, usage data and emerging market trends into clear requirements, user stories, and prioritised backlog items.
- Act as the product SME within scrum teams, writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, refining backlogs, and supporting delivery throughout the development lifecycle.
- Work closely with Engineering and Architecture teams to understand technical solutions, API integrations, data flows, and dependencies, and translate them into customer and commercial value.
- Partner with Sales Engineering, Commercial, Delivery, Product Support, and other Product teams to support adoption, onboarding and growth.
- Conduct internal and external product demonstrations and engage directly with customers and prospects to identify problems, validate requirements, and evaluate new opportunities.
- Analyse and triage operational and maintenance issues to support product reliability and customer experience.
What you'll bring
Required qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in product management, product ownership or a comparable customer- and technology-facing role within travel or a related technology environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field.
- Experience with or strong understanding of travel agencies, TMCs, OTAs, GDS technologies, airline distribution, or travel retailing.
- Understanding of, or interest in, revenue optimisation and retailing from the travel agency/distribution perspective, including how agencies create value and optimise commercial performance.
- Strong business acumen and ability to connect customer requirements and technical capabilities with revenue, profitability, and measurable business outcomes.
- Proven ability to translate market needs, customer feedback, usage data and emerging travel-retailing trends into clear product requirements and priorities.
- Tech-savvy approach with the ability to engage effectively with Engineering and Architecture teams on technical solutions.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate complex business and technical dependencies.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with confidence presenting and demonstrating technology to customers and stakeholders at different organisational levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for executive presentations and written communication.
Strong advantage
- Knowledge of APIs and API-driven products, including the ability to understand API requests and responses, integration models and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON/XML or API testing and analysis tools.
Preferred / nice to have
- Experience or familiarity with software development practices and the software development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Java, C++, SQL or similar is beneficial, but hands-on software development experience is not a requirement.
