About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Duties

• •Provide general instructions, standard procedures, overall priorities and policies, and relies on the employee to control work operations and accomplish an adequate quantity and quality of work.
• •Plan use of subordinate workers' equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis.
• •Inform higher level supervisors of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimates labor and other resources.
• •Assign work to employees and provides technical direction and/or assistance in accomplishing the work
• •Plan and establish overall leave schedules.
• •Maintain production reports and records.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Production Machinery Mechanic Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Ability to lead or supervise employees performing repairs of industrial plant equipment. Skilled at repairing, aligning and adjusting major mechanical systems; examining malfunctioning parts and utilized skills and knowledge to determine the malfunction and what repair procedures to use. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability To Lead or Supervise Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Trouble Shooting Physical Efforts - Works from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms and where the parts of the system worked on are in hard-to-reach places. Required to stand, walk, crawl, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, carries, and sets up tools, equipment and parts that weigh up to 35 pounds. Hand, foot, and eye coordination is required in operating motor vehicles. Frequent arm and leg movement is required. Working Conditions - Work is performed inside and outside. Inside work is usually in buildings, heated, lighted, and ventilated. Noise from hammers, saws, and other power tools is common. Subject to dust and dirt; cuts and bruises from using hand tools and equipment; or possible more serious injuries from operating power tools or from falls from ladders and scaffolds. Subject to electrical shock and burns. Possibility of injuries as a result of accident.
