Production Tech I (VRU)

Job Summary

The Production Tech is responsible for oil and gas well operations, well testing, and coordinating surface and downhole production equipment. This position will work closely with Production Engineers, Production Foremen, Workover Foremen and Lease Operators.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible to ensure VRUS in assigned areas are operating as designed, checking compressors, condensate pumps, scrubber, and oil coolers to ensure proper system operation with some supervision.

Checks for leaks; takes corrective action such as coordinating repairs, with some supervision.

Monitor oxygen and ensure proper shutdowns are working accordingly, with some supervision.

Maintain oxygen analyzer calibration schedule, with some supervision.

Maintain proper flare operations by draining condensate pots, verifying blower motors working properly, verifying pilot assembly is in working order with some supervision.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma (or GED).

Minimum of two (2) years related experience.

Ability to pass a respiratory fit test, if applicable to route/location..

Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable MVR.

Basic computer skills.

An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university or other technical or specialized skill training/certification.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• •Ability to stoop, stand, walk, pull, carry instruments, and climb stairs and ladders for an extended period of time.
• •Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
• •Ability to work overhead for extended periods of time.
• •Ability to perform fine manipulations with hands and fingers.
• •Capable of driving distances of 150 miles or more per day during all types of weather conditions.
• •Ability to one -arm carry up to 25lbs. without assistance.
• •Regular bending, crouching, pulling, and kneeling to check equipment and gauges.
• •Must be able to exert up to 50lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20lbs. frequently to move or manipulate objects.
• •Ability to work significant amounts of time as required in completing job responsibilities.
• •Working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises in the field, hazardous chemicals, and hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure for which appropriate safety measures are required.
