Are you a passionate nurse leader with expertise in emergency response education and program management? Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a Program Director, Emergency Response & Life Support Education to oversee our American Heart Association (AHA) training programs and lead initiatives that strengthen clinical emergency preparedness across the organization.

In this highly visible leadership role, you will direct BIDMC's centralized and decentralized ACLS, BLS, and Heartsaver programs , serve as the AHA Training Site Coordinator , and guide projects that improve emergency clinical response and patient outcomes.

What You'll Do

✅ Lead and oversee all AHA training programs, ensuring compliance with AHA standards and requirements

✅ Develop class schedules, staffing models, recruitment plans, and resource allocation strategies

✅ Hire, coach, evaluate, and support program staff while promoting operational efficiency and excellence

✅ Manage annual program budgets, course revenue, and purchasing of supplies and equipment

✅ Continuously evaluate and improve program effectiveness to meet the needs of both internal and external customers

✅ Champion innovation and lead change initiatives that enhance emergency response education and performance

✅ Direct daily operations and supervise a team of educators and support staff

✅ Lead projects focused on improving clinical emergency preparedness and response across the medical center

Leadership Responsibilities

• •Direct supervision of more than 7 employees
• •Oversight of 1-5 indirect reports
• •Responsibility for hiring, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and terminations
• •Budget planning and financial oversight for the program

Required Qualifications

Education

Master's Degree required

Licensure & Certifications

• •Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• •Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required

Experience

• •5-8 years of related work experience required
• •0-1 years of supervisory or management experience required

Pay Range:

$150,000.00 USD - $220,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
