Overview

Nomad Digital has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Engineering team based in Paris, France. Working closely with the Project Manager and Engineering Manager, you will coordinate the technical delivery of projects, from solution design and documentation through to implementation, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting. You will work collaboratively with internal teams and engage with clients where required, ensuring successful project outcomes.

The role requires strong knowledge of IP networking, wireless technologies, and Linux platforms, along with at least three years of hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting network devices such as switches, routers, and access points. Experience with satellite communications is an advantage.

Occasional extended international travel may be required for certain projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work in a team with the project manager to coordinate the internal teams and ensure all deliverables are delivered within the specified timescales.

Client interaction to determine requirements, agree on solutions, review agree on test plans and present results.

High level design from the BID technical proposal.Finalise design during project

Create project documents in-line with requirements and planning:

Documenting the design, including

Integration documents in case third party solutions have to be

Test

Configuration-, training- and installation

Documents for handover to

Responsible for defining and reviewing configuration to match the design objectives, with the support of internal team

Responsible for troubleshooting in case of issues, both by own investigation and by coordinating other internal teams or Can act as 3rd line support to internal teams.

Managing the handover to client or in-house support staff including training.

Qualification Requirements:

Essential

Understanding of TCP/IP networking, LAN and VLAN IP planning.

User knowledge of Linux.

Desirable

Knowledge of Mobile data networks , and general technical hybrid Telecom & IT experience.

Knowledge of certification requirements for railway.

Linux REDHAT certified or Debian certified.

Degree level in Electrical / Electronic / IT / Computing Engineering or a related subject.

Understanding of IT/Telecom Operations and Maintenance procedures.

Knowledge of antenna design and antenna placement. RF Te lecom knowledge.

Experience Requirements:

Essential:

At least 3 years hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting various network devices including switches, routers, and access points.

Remote management experience using

Very good communication skills, both technical and user facing in English and

Good documentation skills

Experience creating system schematics, Bills of materials, test documents and technical processes and

procedures.

Good knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and preferably

Thorough and logical approach to planning and

Desirable:

Experience working in rail/transportation sector, with understanding of Operations and Maintenance

Wi-Fi and/or RF planning and implementation

Experience with hardware integration, interface definition and reviewing

Experience working with Puppet, Zabbix and

Experience with VM’s and

Experience with security and penetration testing.
