Project Engineer - Site Based

We're looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our Industrial team in Timaru , supporting a strong pipeline of regional industrial and manufacturing projects.

You'll play a key role delivering sustaining capital and improvement projects across sectors such as food and beverage, manufacturing, and heavy industry.

With a high level of client interaction, responsibility, and autonomy, this is an excellent opportunity to build trusted relationships, broaden your project delivery experience, and make a visible impact across the region.

He aha tāu mahi | What you’ll be doing

Delivering sustaining capital projects such as equipment replacements, safety upgrades, reliability improvements and compliance works

Supporting major capital projects as they arise

Managing projects end to end, from scope and planning through to delivery - working alongside client teams with support from Beca’s wider national capability

Building strong, trusted client relationships through consistent, high-quality delivery

Working confidently and independently in a site based delivery environment, partnering with operational teams and key stakeholders, drawing on national project support where needed

You're a practical and proactive engineer who enjoys working closely with clients, solving problems and delivering projects that make a real difference. You thrive in environments where you can take ownership, build relationships and see projects through from concept to completion.

You’ll Bring

A tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering

10+ years’ experience ideally within industrial brownfield or operational environments

Experience managing projects, including scope, programme, cost and risk

The ability to work independently in a regional delivery environment

A client-focused, practical mindset, with strong problem-solving skills
