As a Project Manager at Elmet Technologies, you’ll turn those opportunities into working manufacturing capabilities. You’ll lead complex capital and technical projects from initial concept through engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning, qualification, and production start-up.

This is a hands-on project leadership role for an engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, coordinating people and resources, and seeing a project move from a plan on paper to a working part of the manufacturing operation.

What You’ll Do

You’ll lead technical and capital projects from initial concept through successful implementation, balancing engineering requirements, project controls, manufacturing priorities, and operational needs.

Your work will include:

• •Lead capital and technical projects from concept and engineering through procurement, installation, commissioning, qualification, and start-up
• •Develop project scopes, engineering requirements, equipment specifications, layouts, and process flows
• •Build and manage project schedules, budgets, milestones, and resource plans
• •Manage procurement of equipment, materials, engineering services, and contractors
• •Monitor project cost, quality, delivery, scope, and schedule throughout execution
• •Lead the design, installation, and modification of manufacturing equipment and facility systems
• •Manage projects involving HVAC, compressed air, boilers, chillers, electrical infrastructure, pumps, transformers, and other plant systems
• •Coordinate contractors, vendors, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Quality, and other project stakeholders
• •Lead APQP activities supporting new product and equipment launches
• •Manage commissioning and qualification of new or modified equipment
• •Support the transition of new equipment and processes into production
• •Identify manufacturing bottlenecks and develop practical solutions
• •Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methods to improve throughput, yield, and process performance
• •Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency
• •Communicate project status, risks, priorities, and decisions to stakeholders and leadership

Requirements

You’re an engineer who knows successful project management requires both a solid plan and the ability to adapt when conditions change.

You can manage budgets, schedules, contractors, and technical documentation—but you’re equally comfortable walking the manufacturing floor, reviewing an equipment installation, troubleshooting a problem, or bringing the right people together to keep a project moving.

You may be a strong fit if you bring:

• •A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
• •3–7 years of project management experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
• •Experience managing capital equipment, facility, or manufacturing process projects
• •Strong understanding of heat transfer, metallurgy, materials processing, or related industrial processes
• •Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
• •Understanding of OSHA, NEC, NFPA, IBC, and other applicable industrial safety and engineering standards
• •The ability to interpret process, instrumentation, electrical, and wiring diagrams
• •Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment
• •Strong project planning and organizational skills
• •Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities
• •The ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
• •Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, leadership, contractors, and vendors

This Is Hands-On Project Leadership

This isn’t a project management role where success is measured by maintaining a schedule from behind a desk.

You’ll work where engineering and manufacturing meet. That may mean coordinating an equipment installation, reviewing a layout with Operations, working through a technical issue with a vendor, managing contractors on site, or troubleshooting a problem during commissioning.

You should be comfortable moving between detailed project planning and what is actually happening on the manufacturing floor.

The goal is not simply to complete projects. It’s to deliver equipment, infrastructure, and processes that work—and that make the Coldwater operation stronger.
