QA Engineer

What You’ll Be Doing

Breaking stuff — before our customers do.

Our software helps operators track satellites, schedule antennas, send commands, and manage spacecraft in orbit. Quality at Quindar means more than checking whether a button works. It means understanding how customers operate missions, finding the unexpected ways workflows can fail, and making sure our software behaves predictably when it matters.

You should be comfortable digging into complex software to understand how different parts of the system interact — whether that means testing an API, inspecting logs, validating data, reproducing an intermittent issue, or walking through an end-to-end mission workflow. We expect you to use AI tools and agents to accelerate investigations and automate repetitive validation while still bringing the curiosity and judgment that great QA requires.

In this role, you will:

Own functional, integration, and exploratory testing for new features and evolving product workflows, while contributing to regression coverage for existing functionality

Develop and maintain clear test plans, test cases, and regression suites based on product requirements and real customer workflows

Test mission-critical workflows including contact planning, collision avoidance, task automation, and incident management

Identify, reproduce, document, and track defects through resolution

Test APIs and backend workflows in addition to user-facing functionality

Embed closely with product managers and engineers throughout feature development to understand intended behavior, identify edge cases and ambiguous requirements early, and shape the testing approach before features are ready to ship

Use logs, observability tools, browser developer tools, and other technical resources to investigate unexpected behavior

Use automation and AI-assisted tools where they improve testing depth, repeatability, or efficiency without losing the judgment that comes from thoughtful testing

Qualifications

Technical Skills

Strong experience with manual software testing, including functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing

Experience translating product requirements and user workflows into structured test plans and test cases

Experience using test management platforms such as Rally, Zephyr, TestRail, Xray, or similar to organize test cases, track execution, and maintain test coverage

Strong defect investigation and documentation skills, including the ability to reliably reproduce issues and communicate clear steps, expected behavior, and actual behavior

Experience testing web applications and complex user workflows

Experience testing REST APIs using tools such as Postman, Insomnia, curl, or similar

Familiarity with browser developer tools, application logs, and basic troubleshooting techniques

Familiarity with Git and modern software development workflows

What Makes You Stand Out

You are naturally curious and enjoy figuring out how things break

You have strong attention to detail and notice subtle inconsistencies, edge cases, and unexpected behavior that others may overlook

You can approach an unfamiliar feature from the perspective of a real user rather than simply verifying that it matches a specification

You write bug reports that engineers actually like receiving: concise, reproducible, and backed by useful evidence

You communicate clearly and work well across product and engineering

You are organized and methodical without becoming dependent on rigid processes

You take ownership of quality and are willing to raise concerns when something does not feel ready to ship

You use AI and modern tooling thoughtfully to expand what you can test, investigate issues faster, and reduce repetitive work

Background

2+ years of experience in software quality assurance or a related role

Experience testing complex production software systems

Active U.S. Security Clearance preferred but not required
