Summary

As an Engineering Technician II, you will support the design, development, testing, validation, and maintenance of engineering projects and products. Working collaboratively with engineers and cross-functional teams, you will build prototypes, design and fabricate fixtures, conduct testing and data analysis, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain engineering labs and equipment. This role requires a strong technical foundation, hands-on electro-mechanical experience, and the ability to independently execute complex assignments while contributing to new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

• •Support engineering projects through product development, testing, validation, and continuous improvement activities
• •Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to develop new products, fixtures, tooling, and test equipment
• •Build, modify, and maintain prototypes, fixtures, and electro-mechanical assemblies
• •Execute verification and validation testing to ensure products meet design specifications and intended performance requirements
• •Collect, analyze, and document test data, observations, and results
• •Troubleshoot hardware, assembly, and test failures to identify root causes and support corrective actions
• •Perform product rework, modifications, and engineering change implementations as required
• •Support failure analysis investigations and provide technical recommendations
• •Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration schedules, and engineering workspaces
• •Assist with engineering lab management, organization, safety compliance, and equipment readiness
• •Provide technical support to Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget
• •Utilize NGS tools and methodologies, including PSPs, to support project execution and continuous improvement
• •Maintain accurate engineering documentation, test records, and build logs
• •Perform other duties as assigned

General Tasks

• •Perform detailed mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic assembly work
• •Solder, wire, inspect, and rework components and assemblies
• •Build and integrate prototypes, fixtures, test stations, and development hardware
• •Conduct validation, reliability, and performance testing according to approved test plans
• •Analyze test results and prepare clear documentation and summaries
• •Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and specifications
• •Operate hand tools, power tools, machine shop equipment, and laboratory instruments safely and effectively
• •Assist with implementation of preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for engineering equipment
• •Maintain engineering labs in compliance with safety, housekeeping, and operational standards
• •Support deviation investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities
• •Perform additional duties as assigned

Desired Experience, Education, Skills, Training, and Competencies .

• •Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechanical Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• •Typically, 2-5 years of experience in an engineering technician, manufacturing technician, or related technical role
• •Experience supporting new product development, prototype builds, testing, and product validation activities
• •Experience implementing equipment maintenance schedules and supporting laboratory management activities

Physical Requirements:

• •Work in office, laboratory, and manufacturing
• •Use computers, test equipment, hand tools, and laboratory equipment regularly
• •Perform detailed assembly, wiring, soldering, inspection, and testing activities
• •Ability to lift up to 35 Ibs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally
• •Ability to stand, sit, bend, and move throughout laboratory and production areas as needed
