Description:

The RNFA collaborates with the surgeon and the interdisciplinary health care team to ensure safe surgical procedures and optimal patient outcomes.

What you will need:

• •BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• •Successful completion of an RNFA Program
• •Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Michigan
• •Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
• •BLS Certification American Heart Association
• •Minimum of three years of perioperative nursing experience .
• •Proficiency in scrubbing and circulating

What you will do:

• •Assists with positioning, prepping and draping the patient
• •Provide hemostasis under surgeon supervision, including clamping, coagulating, and ligating vessels
• •Performs wound closures as directed, including suturing drains, fascia, subcutaneous tissue, and skin
• •Handles tissue as directed by a surgeon.
• •Applies surgical dressing, application of casts, splints, or immobilizing devices
• •Assists in surgical case preparation (equipment, supplies, and instruments).
• •Participates in volume replacement or auto transfusion, when appropriate.
• •Selects and applies appropriate wound dressing.
• •Provides assistance in securing drainage systems to tissue.
• •Anticipate the surgeon's needs to expedite the operative procedure.
